So good he caused a sandstorm in my room
TL;DR: Legacy United Sandstorm is a genuinely fantastic leader class and triple changer that offers 3 overall great modes. Though it's not perfect in every aspect, it's a blast to play with and worth every penny. The robot mode is good and accurate to the original design (minus the toy-accurate head). He looks good, is solid (for the most part), stands well, and is very posable. The flaws are the somewhat mismanaged calf kibble and the chest; the chest plugs in poorly in many copies and tends to pop out easily.Unfortunately, the cause slightly varies per copy, and some fixes that worked for other people may not work for yours. Generally, what seems to work most often is to shave down the broad sides of the tabs on the chest unit, and/or thicken up the chest's centre peg with some nail/floor polish or superglue. The transformation is very fun to do, and it's methodical and intuitive, but not too complicated to the point it's unfun (looking at you, DOUBLEDEALER).I adore the buggy mode the transformation results in. I concede that it's not perfect, but I just love holding it and rolling it around, which it does very well due to its rubber tires and pinned wheels. The accessories integrate seamlessly into its appearance, and it's actually surprisingly large, and is the larger of the 2 alt modes. The helicopter mode is fantastic. While not particularly pretty from the underside, every other angle is utterly amazing and it's damn near black magic that this chopper is hiding a dune buggy and robot dude inside, and the process to fold out the top and unveil the rotors is awesome to see play out.The accessories are great and some of the best we've seen from Hasbro triple changers as of late. Triple changers have a tendency to include silly and dumb accessories to fill out the leader class pricepoint (looking at you, BLITZWING, ASTROTRAIN), and they're at their best with Sandstorm. The big and small guns look good and the winch + cage integrate so well into all the modes. Especially on the dune buggy; the cage bars cover the engine block with the winch underneath, and the cage floor fits securely into the buggy's underside. The level of weapon storage going on here is ingenious. All in all, Sandstorm is absolutely one of the best leader class Transformers to be released as of late. You won't regret picking one up.

The best Triple-changer from Hasbro thus far
The engineering is fun and not overly complex, all 3 modes look great. However, for good or bad, it mixes the aesthetics of the G1 toy and the G1 show. I prefer the show's headpiece, but this G1 toy head looks cool too.I just have 2 main problems for it. #1 the chest piece doesn't secure well, but at least it's not danglingly loose; it still stays put. #2 the slider for the legs on my copy were absurdly tight. I was not able to completely slide in the legs all the way on my first time transforming this fig. But again, it's better than being loose.Lastly and honestly, I wish my figure was delayed even further since I was able to find a copy at a retail store at a discounted price for $35 after I had received the figure!!!
