I purchase these for my husbands birthday. He has a shop he works on cars in and he always complained because there were so many spots in the workplace he could not see well enough. I purchased two of these LED lights and one of the older type. He objected to the new ones at first but he quickly admitted they were even brighter than the old type with the incandescent bulb in them, no he has the light he need in any corner of the shop. They do cost more than the traditional drop lights but they are brighter and the bulbs will last so much longer if not abused that it was just a smart decision to go with these new ones.. but just in case I also bought one of the old type. Husband is using these at least as much as the older ones, and I'm hoping I wont have to fork over my spare bulbs as often as I used to now with these new ones added to the group.

Wow - really liked this light as a replacement for my fluorescent Snap On model. Worked great, bright light - seemed like a good choice. Then the retractor mechanism broke and now it's unusable after just a few months. Time to find a better one. Stay away from this brand.

Bought a few of these from McMaster Carr for work, was impressed with light output and like the convenience outlet in handle. Found it here on Amazon for better price. Replaced my old incandescent drop light in my garage.

Like most people, my garage is not the best lit or organized and the power outlet layout isn't ideal. This drop light helps with all of those factors nicely.The retractor is on-par with most I have used, and can be frustrating at times to get the light positioned perfectly on its own, but the addition of the magnet (do not put this on auto body locations without some padding or it WILL scratch your paint) and folding hook, it is a bit easier to manage.The outlet built in to the handle is great, both as an extension cord while working, as well as on its own as an easy way to have a single outlet where you need it, that goes back to its storage location when finished without much hassle. Cord reels and hand wrapping extension cords is a pain, and requires a set location for them to be stored, this cleans itself up and back into storage with a simple tug.The LED light is BRIGHT, like "dont-look-directly-at-it" bright, giving more than enough light to be able to completely and safely see whatever I need to look at, no matter what time of day. The only thing it is missing is a dimmer or 3-way switch, so it does not have to be at full brightness whenever it is on.All in all, this drop light has been great so far.

Do not drop this light, not even a little or it will stop working. I did get a second one to use while working on vehicles.

I love the style of this light, it's very bright, has a convenient hook, as well as a magnet, and seems reasonably sturdy. The problem is the cord reel assembly won't lock! When it does finally lock, if the cord is bumped or you even brush against the cord, the lock releases and rolls the light right back up. So here it is: Love the Light; Hate the Reel!

After lots of research I bought this. Great product and price.

Want a SUPER bright yet super durable shop light? THIS has been great. It is truly 1300 lumens and, while it will quite literally temporarily blind you if you dare to stare into it, it's perfect for the garage/shop. The inclusion of the outlet is a perfect finishing touch, as is the magnet on the back side.
