Executives aren’t all evil. This book helped me understand their responsibilities a lot better.
I noticed a common theme among many authors in the preface of this book. I appreciate how the author shares the level of support he received from family, friends and stakeholders when writing the book.As far as the content, I liked how the author comprehensively explained what Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) entails and how it flows from upper management to the employees of an organization through its standards and policies. For example, I learned that Governance is guidance from the stakeholders. This could be a board of directors or senior leadership in the form of policies and standards which translate to processes and practices for employees to follow. This strategy optimizes risk and establishes compliance with internal and external compliance obligations.Knowing how to implement this strategy successfully and many other strategies covered in the CRISC certification is what this book is all about!
