I was in the dark about these kinetic switches.
I had dangerous wiring in my dining room in that the earth cable had been used as the remote return leg! To try and make it safe an electrician wired it so that you could turn the lights on or off but had to return to the same location to turn it off again! Waste of space. I’ve kept an eye out and became aware of these switches but still waited. Finally bit the bullet and bought this kinetic two way switch kit. It’s a doddle 🥳. The hardest part for me was cutting the hole in the ceiling so I could have long tail ends and push the receiver and tails into the ceiling void. It just worked brilliantly and best of all I can enter the room at one end and leave at the other.

Switch wherever you want one.
Added this to allow under-cabinet kitchen lights to be switched from multiple locations. As long as you're basically competent with simple wiring, it's fine.If you find wiring a plug challenging, it's perhaps not for you.Easy to install and set up.

Works well.
Eas to install but, you have to be confident with electrics. The receiver needs to interrupt the power supply to the bulb. This is not a job for the timid or inexperienced.Once wired in and powered up, pairing switch to receiver is a breeze. Switch then works without issue. Switch can be sited anywhere convenient. Not tried it but up to 6 switches can be paired with the receiver.

Neat and functional device, 1 star off for no UK instructions
The media could not be loaded. I love this simple easy to use remote control plug socket. The remote transmitter switch is completely self powered and needs no batteries. The remote switch is a KINETIC powered device, meaning, when you push the button it suddenly flicks down quickly> this action is used to power a tiny piezoelectric generator. the action of pressing the switch generates enough kinetic energy to create and transmit a radio signal. This, in turn, will switch on/off via a receiver. It works really well and has a long range. The only downside, and it's minor is that the switch is slightly louder to operate than a small push button variety. But, at least you will know that it's been operated. My video will give you some idea of the operation. The receiver is neat box about the size of a small matchbox. IT has a cartridge fuse location and a simple UK mains input and an output. This receiver does NOT use VOLT FREE CONTACTS on the output side. It will simply switch the input to output when activated. The receiver shows a short blue flash whenever it receives a signal to turn on or off. There is no continual ON state indicator. IT also has a small manual override button. All this is shown on my videoOne oversight is that the complete instruction sheet is all in Chinese characters. Not a splash of English anywhere. You will see from my video, however, that the diagram does show the input and output wiring, but no current rating indicated. These devices usually have a basic single or double pole relay that's generously rated at 10amps, but I Personally would only go as high as 5amps continuous use, and probably don't switch inductive loads like motors. That's about it. A great little convenience device. The switch can be mounted on a wall or stuck on any surface and look! no wires. Safe and sturdy this is valuable extra for many home an office applications.

Poor range and reliability.
Advertised to work at a distance of 50m indoors. I purchased this as a 2 x receiver 2x2 gang switch package. After fighting to open the switches without breaking them, and screwing to the walls I found one of the switches was totally unreliable. Both receivers were the same distance away in the garage about 20m from the switch with just a window and a garage door to penetrate but one side of the 2-gang switch placed downstairs would only work intermittently. Amazon were fantastic and understood that I wasn't going to climb back in the garage roof space to unwire everything for a faulty switch so refunded me and allowed me to buy the replacement switch. The new switch is a different design (click switch instead of original rocker switch) I actually prefer the design of the replacement switch but for one, I can't get it open to allow it to be screwed to the wall and secondly, it's more unreliable than the first. At less than 25metres across mostly fresh air, it intermittently receives the signal (sometimes taking multiple frustrating clicks) and is laying on the windowsill because I can't open it and can't risk breaking it from trying (absolutely no instructions, not even a diagram). Once again this was a false economy to buy cheap. My advice is buy Quinetic switches. Much more expensive but worth every penny (hence why they are sold and fitted by professionals).Further update. Having become totally fed up with the repeat clicking needed to get one of the receivers to work, I decided to buy a battery powered version of the two gang switch from the DieseRC range. This was in the hope that the range would be a little better than the Kinetic. Unfortunately, when it arrived it wouldn't pair with the receivers packaged with the Kintetic switches? Why on earth wouldn't all the devices across their range be compatible and where on their advertising doe it say that they're not? I've just about had enough of wasting time and money on this equipment now and wish I'd never seen it and been tempted. Before writing this update, I actually measured the distance from switch to receiver and it is under 15 metres but only just works if you wake the whole household by keeping on clicking it until you get lucky.
