Q: do i need to put primer before i use this?

This paint is for the bottom of a fiberglass boat. The main purpose is so that barnacles don't stick to the boat, not necessarily for esthetics. Some marinas won't let you dock your boat unless the bottom is painted. Clean the boat thoroughly, paint a thin coat and then the next day paint a second thin coat. The bottom will look nice and at the same time repel barnacles.

Q: how does rust-oleum anti fouling paint compare to trilux 33?

Trilux 33 is specifically used for aluminum hull boats for bottom paint Aluminum hull boats can not use regular botton paint due to the copper content in the formula.

Q: I will do some small epoxy hull repairs...will this need prime over the repairs first or ok to paint directly over?

I would definitely use prime, it would be more permanent. It is thick like tar shake really well. You wont need but 2 coats. Good luck!

Q: Why does it read, not good for aluminum trailer boats? I dont understand this. I have a fiberglass boat with aluminum trailer.

Use on fiberglass boats and all non-aluminum trailer boats..... I’m sure it’s “non-aluminum trailers AND non-aluminum boats.. .... you’re good to go.
