it's flexible, so if kept vertically then height from base is more than 10 inches

Hello, Thank you for your Interest in our KLIM Talk microphone! It does work flawlessly with all Windows OS, dating back to Windows XP: Simply plug it in and it will be recognized by the Operating System. You may adjust the input volume inside the app of choice or from Windows' Sound Settings (Control Panel → Sound → Recording tab) The microphone has a hardware "mute" button on its base, please check the status of the LED when you want your PC to capture your voice! As a side note, Windows 7 OS is not officially supported by Microsoft anymore and there may be other reasons to switch to another OS or a more recent version of Windows. The KLIM Talk microphone is just not one of these! Q: Will the in-built speakers of laptop work when this device is plugged in?
