Q: does this work with any laptop?

I just ordered and received three of these. Work great. One on a Chromebook. Ones for an older toshba laptop and the third on a newer dell notebook. All were compatible. 5 stars!

Q: Does the scroll wheel push down as well?

Yes it does push down like if you are left button function to open pages etc.

Q: Has anyone else's pointer started acting up after using this mouse for ~ a month?

I think I just fixed it. Here's how: 1. Turn mouse off. 2. Remove battery and wait 5 seconds. 3. Put in new battery, wait 3 seconds. 4. Turn mouse back on, wait 3 seconds. So far it's no longer automatically scrolling back up.
