Q: Which is better set, the light exploration kit or the arcade kit that sells for a little less on Amazon?

Hello- So much depends on interest. The Light is one of the top selling Snap Circuits but doesnt have the coding/programming component that Arcade has. Both are great kits.

Q: My son broke the flying disc, where would I purchase another? Do they sell replacement parts?

Some replacement parts are available on eBay, and you might also search the dollar stores. Try to see if your little scientist or you can make one using a round margarine container lid.

Q: I do not have an ipod or an MP3 player but do have a samsung galaxy 4...would the mp3 light feature work with my phone? please let me know...

It came with an auxiliary cord so it should work from the music on your phone. My son said that when plugging that cord into your phone it produces the music through a speaker that came with it, but it is very quiet. However, it does make the lights flash to the music. He said that playing the music into the microphone allows you to hear the music better.
