Wow! This product really works! After giving one dose of half a tsp to start my beagle had almost no gas and his stool became firmer. After a week I started slowly increasing the dose with his 2 meals and his stool is fabulous and he has no gas. I love this supplement and my dog likes the taste. Great product and I recommend. My MalShi has a very sensitive digestive system that was hard to regulate. Poor little guy had loose stools every day. We could see he was uncomfortable. Among the things that finally set him straight, is this Bernie's Perfect Poop. It took a few weeks but the results are very good. Not only are his stools normal now but he's not suffering from gas the way he used to. We mix about 1/2 teaspoon into his wet dog food and that's it! He's never refused his food so I assume the dog food masks the taste of Bernie's. This has been a blessing for us and him. Fewer baths from accidents and easier clean up! Try this if you have a dog with sensitive stomach issues.

Great stuff! It works for our dog so amazingly well. After a long course of antibiotics a couple of years ago, his stool became very soft. Not exactly diarrhea, but very and worrisomely soft. And it was like that for weeks before we realized he should’ve been taking probiotics, too, while taking his antibiotics to help lessen the negative impact they have on the gut. Not sure why the vet never suggested any probiotics at all. And why we didn’t ask. It was a super stressful time. One can’t think of everything under such distress. But the vet should’ve known better. I know in some cases probiotics are a no go. But, usually it is recommended. Oh, well. After weeks of super soft stool, trying pumpkin pure and what not, hoping it would get better and back to normal… we started researching probiotics, and somehow these caught our attention. The vet ok-ed them. Gave us some other options that they usually recommend, just in case if these don’t work. And we decided to give these a try! It was not an instant fix. It took some time ( but not long! ). And soon his stool started getting better. And better. And then it was back to normal! Almost like magic! We’ve been giving him these magical granules ever since, and don’t ever want to be without them! His stool’s been perfect ever since! Wonderful stuff! 5 stars for the product itself! The packaging… is a totally different story. The packing deserves zero stars! It’s terrible! And super frustrating. The zip lock on it goes to heck in no time. After only a few uses! So terribly cheap and crappy. ( And the product is not the cheapest! One would expect a functional packaging for the money, too! It’s basics! ) And then we have to put it in another bag or a jar or something. I mean… it’s kinda ridiculous in a world with good and functional zip lock mechanisms easily available to have such crap on your wonderful product. C’mon Bernie, stop being so cheap and put this gold of a product in a better packaging!

***Update 7/10/25*** Our 4 year old boy has been on Bernie's Perfect Poop now for 2 months and it has truly been life-changing for him (and us!) I can say with certainty that we will be lifetime users of Bernie's Perfect Poop! Our pup's stinky leaky anal glands are 99% better! Every now and again we might get a slight smell, but it's generally if he's feeling stressed (i.e., getting into the car.) But we have NO MORE leaks and smells in the house and no more stinky gas! Plus his stools are now firm and easy to pick up. He also seems to just be happier overall and more playful. We worked him up to his current dose slowly, making sure it did not cause him any gastrointestinal distress, and he's currently taking 3-4 heaping tablespoons each day. We still mix it with a little water to soften it up, and he LOVES it. After trying so many supplements and nothing working, I am so relieved to have found Bernie's. Well worth the price in comparison to other supplements. If your pup is having belly issues, just buy the small bag like I did and give it a try. It's not often I write reviews or even follow up on them, but this product has impressed my husband and I so much that I had to come back. It truly has helped our pup so much! ********************************************** ***Update 5/28/25*** My sweet boy (see story below) has now been on Bernie's Perfect Poop for over two weeks now and I can confidently say that for him (and us), this has made a HUGE difference! After the first week we noticed his bowel movements were much more bulked up and there was a dramatic drop in the instances of his anal glands leaking. We still had a few instances, but definitely decreased. We are now just over two weeks in and for the last week we have had ZERO incidences of anal glad leakage. Not to mention he seems to be less bloated, no more gas, better smelling breath, and much more playful than usual. The only change has been adding in the Bernie's Perfect Poop. Initially we started out giving him 1/2 to 1 tablespoon each day, but he currently gets two heaping tablespoons every day. He loves the taste but he's not a fan of the crunchy texture, so I put it into a bowl and add 1-2 tablespoons of warm water and let it sit a few minutes. It then takes on the texture of a canned/soft dog food, which he LOVES. This has worked so well for our pup that I just purchased the 30 oz. bag. We initially bought the 12.8 oz. bag and we anticipate it lasting us a total of 1 month, so I'm hoping the 30 oz. bag will last us a few months. Well worth the price - our boy is happier and WE are happier not having to deal with his stinky, leaky anal glands! ********************************************** I have a four year old mixed breed dog that’s about 35 lbs. He has suffered with bad breath, terrible gas, loose stools, and leaky anal glands since we adopted him. The worst of this situation being his anal glands. They’re always leaky and SO smelly. We tried switching his kibble many times and also added in multiple different types of fibrous foods to help bulk up his stools, but nothing has worked. I then started doing research on various “anal gland” supplements, but I was always hesitant to try them because they are SO expensive ($30 +) and most don’t contain what I believe to be enough fiber to make much of a difference anyway. I knew he likely needed more flaxseed than anything and most supplements did not contain that. Most contain pumpkin powder. So after doing research and comparing products, I finally stumbled upon Bernie’s Perfect Poop here on Amazon. When I saw that it had 600 mg of Pumpkin Powder AND 400 mg Flaxseed per serving, I realized that this was the first product I’ve researched that actually contained enough of these ingredients to POSSIBLY make a difference. So I didn’t hesitate to place an order. My only concern when purchasing was (1) will my dog eat it? And (2) will it actually help? Well, I just received our 12.8 oz bag yesterday and was eager to let my pup test it out. I placed 1/2 a serving size in a bowl for him. Appearance-wise, the supplement looks very much like a fiber cereal for adults. It doesn’t have a terrible smell and is just dry, fibrous bits. (Almost looked like bacon bits.) My dog sniffed it and licked up a little, but because the bits were so small and crunchy, he lost interest. And I knew if I mixed it with his regular food, he’d likely just eat around it. So because it is a fibrous kibble, I added a little bit of warm water (just a few drops at a time to moisten it) and then stirred it up. It then was soft enough for him to lick up. He then LOVED it and was begging for more lol. So this evening we’ll do the same thing – we’ll add a 1/2 serving size with a little warm water and give it to him that way. So even though I can’t say for certainty that this supplement is going to help with the problems my dog has, I am very hopeful that this will help him turn the corner. I promise to come back in a week or two with another update – but so far I’m pleased with the product and my dog appears to be as well!

I have two Bernese mountain dogs and started using this product when I got my second one. I feed this once a day and give them half of the recommended amount. It works well and keeps their poop from getting loose. If they get diarrhea I give them the full amount and they go back to normal in no time. I sprinkle it on top of their food and they gobble it up. The one down side is the price, it is pretty pricey.

I have a Golden Retriever mix w/Aussie Shepherd 78 pound, 3.5 years old. I got him at 1 year, 8 months and he had terrible poop. Previous family was feeding the cheapest dog food and I thought that was the problem, so I switched him (gradually) to Hills Science Diet for Sensitive Stomachs, having had great success with other dogs eating that. Stool improved, but not great. Also, he is a VERY fussy eater about his kibble! He will of course eat anything I'm eating... Anyway, everyone kept saying add pumpkin and or rice. Tried this to little avail. He doesn't like the pumpkin if it's cold, and you can't put too much in!! I have put in warm rotisserie chicken, which eventually proved to be too much protein as well as his own mini hamburger mixed in with his kibble, which was very successful for getting him to eat it, but still- soft stool. Argh! So I tried Optagest, which is a sugar-consistency prebiotic type thing. It helped, but a lot of the granules wound up on the bottom of the dish and that stuff was $28 for a fairly small jar! So, while searching on Amazon, I came across Bernie's. Loved the website and enthusiasm so decided to try it. Got the Cheddar. Cheese flavor and started small, as you should always do, and within a few days, my dog had the most healthy stool he'd ever produced. And the. He wouldn't eat the cheddar cheese stuff anymore, no matter how many freeze dried liver treats I crumbled and mixed in. Argh again! Got in touch with Bernie's and they said they would be happy to send me the Chicken flavor, free of charge, and keep the Cheddar cheese. Maybe see if a friend wants to try it. Beyond the fact of how impressive this policy is was how friendly and helpful the staff is. Really know that you are cared about and valuable to them! Secondly, that new package was in my hands in 48 hours!! I'm not saying that's normal, it certainly wasn't expected, but WOW! So after trying again with the pumpkin (which is just a NO for my guy) I decided to go back to a mini hamburger mixed in with 4 Tbsp of Bernie's and 2 cups of Blue Wilderness kibble. So far so AWESOME! Puppa ate it all up and stool is much healthier. It's been a week and it just gets better every day. Don't need the pumpkin or the beef liver. Every dog is different so having a company understand and care about that is wonderful! Is it a bit expensive? First of all, what isn't nowadays? But the fact is that now that I can buy less expensive kibble and don't need beef liver treats it equals out to about what I was paying for the Hill's and most importantly, my dog's health has vastly improved. This includes his breath, which I didn't realize would be part of the package. This product may not work for your dog, but then again it may, and it is virtually risk-free! I do not have tons of money and so having Bernie's guarantee their product means a lot to me. Their incredible kindness means even more! I will definitely be looking into their other products as my dog's needs change. Thank you for helping me and thank you so much for helping my dog!
