If you have never used one of these nightly, you are missing out on an excellent care tool. The metal handle has lasted for years so we purchased another for my partner. The tips are replaceable so once a year they are replaced. This tool always removes more gunk even after flossing, electric brushing and manual brushing. I was shocked when I first used it and use it nightly for about 8 years. It fits in my hand nicely and the perfect length.

My periodontist's assistant introduced me to these. I've had 3 gum surgeries in the last year and a half to address receding gums - a feature of aging. I enjoy using them even day and they really help to maintain my gum health! I highly recommend them - and no need to wait until you have problems! I used to buy these refills at local pharmacies, but they were discontinued a while back. You can still buy the rubber tip and handle, but the tips wear out, so you'd have to buy another whole unit. Very expensive and wasteful, but no doubt profitable for stores. When I found these were available on Amazon, I was pleased. These rubber tip replacements are "cheap insurance" for your dental health, and I highly recommend you include this product in your daily self-care. I believe rubber tipping may be more important than flossing. Like all tissues, gums like a little "exercise." Rubber tipping is an excellent opportunity to stimulate the gums and keep them stronger. My dentist documented that since I began rubber tipping after each meal, my gum lines improved, hugging my teeth better than they used to. This helps prevent painful gum problems and disease. The key to successful rubber tipping can be summed up in one word: "gentle." Gum tissue can be sensitive, especially if you haven't rubber tipped before. But I'm willing to bet your dental hygienist will be happy to help you get the most from rubber tipping, so let me not digress. The replacement process can be tricky. Removing the old tip usually isn't a problem. Wash the base where the old tip was before replacing with a new one. You may need to wiggle the new tip gently and slowly to get it onto the handle. Each tip lasts a few weeks or longer. Rinsing it off well after use can lengthen its useful life. Eventually the tip will wear down and get harder. Then it can hurt the gums. Time to replace!

Works with well with the original handle. Just takes a little work getting the new tip on. My local drugstore no longer carries these replacement tips so I was happy to find them here and at a good price.

Have used for a decade now and my dentist always compliments how good my gums are. Prevents bleeding and great for hard to reach spots. Not an alternative for flossing but a great add to the routine.

The second time ordered and still only 1x3 arrived instead of 6x3 as described. Very disappointing for this price.
