Just as addictive the second time around
Itβs been a few years since I first fell into to the scintillating world of Demigods of San Francisco and itβs been just as exciting, sweet, laugh out loud funny, and more the second time around. You can expect:-squeeze your heart sweet moment-sexy steam, 18+-found family-engaging, exciting, page turning plot-lovable, sometimes infuriating, multidimensional characters-fun magic system-banter and hilarious interactions-enough awesomeness to read againHighly recommend all of KF Breeneβs books (I havenβt read her y/a, but the rest are superb).

Stop making your leads look dumb and say theyβre intelligent
saying the leads are intelligent but making them make bad choices and do stupid things makes the story less believable. I understand the humor in the attitudes with the words but the disrespect the female word shows towards a demigod too much and not adorable or funny but very annoying makes you wanna stop reading. The really bad stupid choices that the female lead makes you want to stop reading the book completely. A little more editing wouldβve made this better.

Book 2 heats things up!
This was a cracker of a sequel. If you haven't read Sin and Chocolate first, you need to (and why wouldn't you? It's fabulous!). Book 2 in the Demigod series picks straight up from where the previous book finishes. The author has done a great job at maintaining momentum and the overall feel of the world that the first installment started. The transition was smooth and it was like there was no break at all. Alexis is now contracted to work for Kieran, focusing on finding his mother's skin and enabling her to have peace in the afterlife. If possible, I actually enjoyed this book even more than the first one. I love how Ms Breene didn't drag events out - I hate it when there's a series and a writer tries to carry single events in plot lines across several books. It does nothing for the story and bores the reader. I'm happy to say that there's none of that rubbish here. There was closure on a couple of story elements that had been set up in the first book and it really added to the fluency and pace of the overall plot. This book had a bit of everything that I love about K.F. Breene's books - strong female characters, a bit of eye candy with the males, suspense, excitement and, most importantly, hilarity. The writing is witty and I'm happy to say there was also a nice bit of raunchiness thrown in between Alexis and Kieran - Hallelujah! The usual merry band of characters featured. The Six continued to be a great addition that supported the story and after to getting to know them a bit more here, they're starting to feel like family. Mordecai was much the same as he continues to prepare to shift. I loved him in the first book and continued to do so here. I found Daisy a bit annoying at times in the first book while still liking her, but I freaking loved her in this book. She was funny, feisty and really held her own as she starts her own training with the slightly murderous Zorn. Kieran's character continued to be hotter than Hades himself as he comes to grasp with his feelings and Alexis' role in his life. I see in some of the reviews that there has been a bit of mixed feedback about Alexis. Well, I freaking loved her even more in this book. She can be a bit clueless and anxious, but I thought that was a brilliant touch from the author. It made her really relatable and even more likeable to me. She is strong and courageous, but also slightly flawed by very human characteristics. It wouldn't be realistic for her to be a confident master of all crafts with her background. Personally, I felt I knew her a bit more in this book and liked her character all the more for it. The story delves a bit more into what makes her tick and combined with her background, we really get to understand why Alexis is the adorable fruit loop she is. And watching her coming into her own with her spirit magic - awesome. And how can I not love and respect a girl who can't be bothered to iron her pants properly? Sounds like my spirit animal. ALexis' inner monologue in this book was also hilarious. She's got a good dash of crazy and she was funny as hell. The book also introduced a new character, Bria, who was set with the task of training Alexis. For Breene fans, think of Reagan, but with tattoos, piercings, a punk/rock vibe and the ability to work with the dead. It goes without being said that I loved her. She was nuts. She worked great with Alexis and, typical of Breene's books, it's once again great to see female characters working together as a strong team rather than pulling each other down. Although Bria does seem to have a death wish!I was on the edge of my seat with a few of the plot twists as the book really took me for a ride. With a few other plot lines tied up, Book 3 is all clear to take on Valens, the guy we love to hate. I loved Sin and Magic and will continue to bow down to the master that is Queen Breene. I can't wait for the next one and every book I read from K.F. Breene is kind of making me want to reenact Misery where I keep her in a basement. That was a joke. Please don't report me :) But seriously, get writing, woman! People have needs and I NEED Book 3. Yesterday!

Amazing follow up to the first. CAn't wait for #3!!!!!!
Wow! What a fantastic addition to an already phenomenal series. Granted it's only the second book, but what a book 2 it is.πππππThe S&M story was just perfect. I love catching up with all the characters from book 1 and meeting a few new ones. The author has continued to build the world up with amazing detail. This is a unique, original series unlike any I've read before. The characters, story line and scenes are developing and written in such detail that it doesn't take a lot of effort to be able to picture it in your head.ππππ€«π€Alexis is still sassy and confident, most of the time, but sometimes she shows her vulnerable side. In the first book, Kieran was shown to be the perfect example of a Demigod; forbidden, sexy, dangerous and full of ego. In book two he is still all of these, but you get a chance to see his softer side as it develops. They are still a match made is Heaven.π©ββ€οΈβπβπ¨π©ββ€οΈβπβπ¨π©ββ€οΈβπβπ¨π©ββ€οΈβπβπ¨π©ββ€οΈβπβπ¨I like the kids, sassy, foul-mouthed Daisy and sweet but fierce Mordecai. In book two Mordecai is all healed up and they have both been taken under the wing of The Six, well, all except Zorn, who chose to not join in on training the kids. They are teaching them to fight and protect themselves. Jack is Mordecai's main trainer, but I won't tell you the reason. You have to read to discover that on your own. However, something happens with the training later that was unexpected. I can't wait to see where that goes. Also, Kieran brought in a new character, Bria, to help train Alexis. Bria is a strange one. She's crazy and always colors outside the lines. She loves danger, seeks it out pretty much. Excited to see where she winds up. Plus, the revelation about her better half's identity is one I certainly wasn't expecting.Still drooling over the Six. It's an all-you-can-eat buffet for us ladies. Yummy!π€€π€€π€€π€€π€€My favorite part was all the weird, unique one-liners that the author uses (i.e. Mother-trucker biscuit f%&$#%, just to name one of the many) that had me cracking up. Already adopted some of them. (Thank you to the author for extending my vocabulary.) This go around, I think my favorite part was all the new magical elements that the author added. I just loved it and I can't wait to see more.π€£π€£π€£π€£π€£Want to know what I'm talking about? Then make sure you purchase a copy of Sin & Magic by K.F. Breene.π°π°ππβοΈβ I'm completely hooked on this series and there's still more to come. I can't wait to read the next book, Sin & Salvation.π€π€π€π€π€(Possible Spoilers Below!)---------I'm gonna include some of the notes I took, thoughts I had while reading it. Hope you enjoy them!* Frank is proving to be quite sexist, even when he's being funny.* Zorn is one of the most intriguing characters of the bunch, can't wait to read more about him.* I'm excited to see where the kids' training leads.* Bria is awesome and it's my first meeting with her. YES!* Love the convo between Kieran and Alexis about her being late with technology and the little black book. Classic!* Chemistry + Kieran + Alexis = Off the charts, hot enough to melt metal.* Love when Bria describes Daisy as a gremlin! ROFL at that moment.* HOLY S***! Lexi has some serious mojo, scary stuff there.* I would have tanned some serious a**es for the B&E stunt.* Still intrigued by The Six. Looking forward to reading more about them. Discovering more of their powers and maybe some background details.* Phew!!! Some close calls and serious hotness up in the bedroom.* Elated for Lyra. That scene made me sad and joyful at the same time. Hard not to feel both for all in that moment.* How Cool! She connected them to one another; body, soul and magic. Sharing is caring! LOL!* Love the internal GPS bit. Wish I had that sometimes.* Woohoo! Lexi kicked some necromancer butt! WTG, girl.* Proud of Lexi. She stood her ground, put her foot down, made the choice for herself. Though, I'm not sure if that makes her brave or stupid. Guess we'll find out.* Love that Alexis, Mordecai and Daisy are such a close family. A family that has expanded by 7, 8 if you include the reluctant Kieran.* Done! I'm so hooked. I'm not sure I have enough patience to wait for the next book.

2nd book didnβt disappoint
Continued right where it left off.I like that the story is a not too typical Demigod arena. It is set in a modern setting and it has shifters and powers that I have not read about before.I do love Keiren and how he can be ruthless if necessary but not because he can. He is thoughtful and caring and does hide it well.I love all the side characters and how much they are growing into their own selves.Ready for the next book.
