Great Natural Hair Dye
Indigo powder is an amazing natural alternative for coloring hair! I’ve used it along with henna to achieve a rich, dark brown color, and I’m loving the results. It’s easy to apply, and my hair feels soft and healthy afterward. The color lasts a good amount of time, and it’s so much gentler on my hair compared to regular chemical dyes. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a natural way to darken their hair!

Great Coverage and Shine After Henna Treatment
I’ve used this indigo powder after my henna treatments several times and it performs exactly as expected. It provides a rich, natural color and excellent coverage without the use of harsh chemicals. I usually blend it with 1 tbsp of salt to help the indigo and coffee (instead of water) to deepen the color. It’s a great option if you’re looking for a natural, effective way to color your hair while maintaining its health. I’m really pleased with how it turned out and will definitely continue using it.

Good product, chemical free and easy to use. Very strong smell.
I have been using this product for years now and love the fact there there are no dangerous chemicals in it that would damage or dry my hair. It's also much cheaper than buying a regular hair color from the pharmacy. It is effective at covering stubbornly gray hair. It does take a bit of playing with to get the right color - it's easy to make your hair too red/orange. As other reviewers have said, the smell is very pungent to the point it is overwhelming, but I can get past that if it means I don't have to use damaging chemicals on my hair. I have tried different brands and this one has a great price point so I'll stick with reordering this one.

The absolute best!
This is the best! As I’ve stated before on this brand’s henna powder review, this brand is the best! This can be mixed when the henna paste is sitting in your hair. For this is only used one and a half cups of this brand’s indigo powder, one heaping teaspoon of Himalayan salt and 2 cups of very warm water. I didn’t want to compromise the capability of the dye but looking back, next time I will definitely replace the water with black tea and add at least one tablespoon of aloe vera powder or slipper elm powder (application wasn’t as smooth). I let the mixture sit covered in the container for the entire duration of the henna being in my hair (4hrs). Then applied to my damp hair IMMEDIATELY after rinsing out the henna. Do not wait more than 24 hrs after your henna as it really does minimize dye absorption (weird but true as it happened to me in the past). Wrap hair in plastic and let sit for at least 3hrs. I let mine sit for 4hrs. Rinse your hair completely and DO NOT SHAMPOO OR CONDITION!!! Also, DO NOT use anything with coconut oil as that strips your dye absorption. I used only pure flax gel. Give your hair at least one week before washing to ensure stronger dye absorption. There will be dye transfer but that will all cease after your next wash day! Attached are photos of before, after henna and after indigo (all was done on the same day!) You can still see a bit of the henna colour on my grey section that is why I’m thinking to use the previously mentioned alterations next time.

Real henna (lawsonia inermis) treatment and then using indigo = black hair dye for someone who is allergic to PPD
We used this after a henna treatment to color hair black. It works great! My daughter was using "chemical" hair dye which didn't have PPD (or any of its many alternate names listed) on the box, but after the second treatment, her ears, sides of her face and eyelids were badly swollen. I was shocked, since I thought something else in it must have been the cause. After hours of searching, we found that the ingredients did include PPD, but manufacturers aren't required to list it. Even a hairdresser who offered an alternative coloring said that what they use in their salon doesn't contain PPD, but we searched online for information on the product and found that it does, as well. Using henna and then indigo has worked great! It blended in with the already black hair, and we've done many treatments with no problems/reactions. This has allowed her to keep having the hair color she wanted without risking her looks (people have lost hair and been scarred from reactions), health or life. I think PPD is horrible and should be banned; I don't understand why AT LEAST they aren't required to put an obvious warning label on the box. They don't even have to list it though. I just read it's also in some eye liners and other cosmetics; that explains why she's been getting swollen eyelids, I imagine. It's daft a consumer should have to do hours of research to see when awful chemicals like this are in everyday beauty products.

Gave me a Headache
It’s the 4th time Im purchasing this product. The last two times I have used it has given me a strong headache. I am thinking of giving up henna hair dying because of this bad reaction.

Waste of time and money. I applied this indigo twice in a matter of 2 weeks and I still have orange hair from my henna applications prior to Indio. I have never had this bad an experience with indigo before. The colour doesn’t transfer to anything at all, not on the clothes I wear, not on my shower cap and most definitely not my hair. Repeated applications have not helped. Will not recommend to anyone I will certainly never buy this brand again.
