Pro: Very pleased with the operation, repeatability and accuracy of the ETCR2100A. Tested on multiple types of grounding conductors, mostly in an industrial setting. Measurements are made at 1600 Hz so reading includes a portion of the inductive reactance of the grounding conductor added to the ground resistance. Successfully measured grounding conductor impedance from about 5' to 250' long in an active industrial environment. Con: Normal operation requires a start-up calibration with clamp closed and without the grounding conductor present. The Err code is given if this process is not followed. Also it is easy to confuse the over-range indication with the Err code. The split transformer clamp used to make the measurement is larger than some other ground resistance meters and is difficult to get into tight spaces, like measuring grounds in wired panels.
