The welding clamp is an essential tool for my husband, since he is a welder. This new tool is just what he was looking for, since the electrodes used define the amount of amperage, which are 500A, which are the most used in his daily work. Excellent, very functional tool. I recommend it.

This welding handle is a bit different. you twist the head to loosen and tighten the rods. There is no spring to wear out, and this is more solid than the spring type, so it holds the rods better. It is a bit harder to get used to if you have used the spring clip type, but it works better. it arrived timely, and the price was not too high. I'm very satisfied with it.

Good enough quality for DIY guys but would never stand up to all day use.

This is a robust electrode holder. The connection method is very simple. The spring pressure allows the holder to grip the electrode securely.

Feels nice in the hand and for the price it is heavy duty works great we'll see how the long-term is you can't go wrong with it

I waited a couple days of use before putting out a review. Shipped to my house next day with prime membership. When I opened it I noticed that the head was a 2 piece assembly. I thought that it wouldn’t hold up long, needless to say it’s held up quite well for the first job I’ve put it through. Running constant 150 amps through this stinger welding a bunch of half inch plate for a winch mount for the car trailer, and this thing hasn’t let me down. The wire is held inside the collar by not one but two set screws. The cavity is a little over an inch to allow a good bit of wire through for that extra bit of comfort in the back of your mind. I am running #2 wire without an issue. The handle took a bit of time getting used to but not long at all, just a few welds. So far so good. And for the price it’s well worth it. I recommend this stinger and have no doubt that if I have an issue customer service will take care of it without an issue.

It's a great twist style stinger for its price but definitely not durable, when in use for industrial environments. I use 3/16 rod and above and I did notice that the insulation is prone to cracking after long use. I did use it non stop for 3 days, 10 hours each and it break and stop holding the rod, I can see that it would be great to buy if your a hobbist welder or interested this particular style as it's cheap. I would definitely invest in a more quality product some where else if using a industrial setting or consistent use.

I did not see instructions in my box, but was easy enough to figure out how to make it work. This handle gives a nice angle to weld so your wrist is not bent like using the "clamp" style. To install the lead wire from my welder, I had to unscrew the red handle all the way off the top. There is a spring and a rod in the top part, so be careful when unscrewing it apart. It came with two set screws, a small plate and a hex key to install the lead wire. Then, insert that part back into the bottom of the handle and screw on the top part to the top of the handle. The way it holds the welding rod is by unscrewing the handle a little and inserting it into the tip. Then, twisting the red grip the other way to tighten until it is secure. Twist it the other way to release the stub and insert a new rod, etc. It is very well made and not too heavy. This handle really holds the lead wire and welding rod without issues.

Bought this to replace on the holder on my cheapo stick welder when the last one fell to bits from getting too hot too often. I’m not sure if I’ve bought one that’s over spec’d for my welder but it was easy to swap and install. Delivery was quick too. It’s properly heavy and feels solid. Underneath the plastic is cast brass. The spring on the jaws is nice and strong and inside the jaws is a decent looking copper teeth/grip for the end of the rods. What a difference it’s made to my welding! I am a definite novice when it comes to welding. I believe in the welders’ payer “a grinder and paint make me the welder I ain’t”. Since installing this my welds look sooo much neater, almost the archetypal stacked pennies and the rods seem to strike better as well. Definitely a worthy addition to the workshop at a great price

I haven't had a chance to use this item just yet, but it is very durable. I just purchased a new welder and cant wait to try. It has arrived arrived. As you can see I put it together, quite easy actually. Already using it. Live it...
