The double edged blade is 440 stainless steel. It is full tang with brass pinned wood handles. It has a nice weight and feel to it. I highly recommend this knife.

Blades over 5.5 inches are “location restricted” in Texas. This blade would be legal to carry in Texas, even in the restricted locations.

Q: Is there a boot clip on sheath?

No. There is no boot clip. It's just a regular sheath. For the belt only.

Q: Can you throw it without it breaking?

You can throw any knife with proper training and practice but this knife wasn't designed for it. However it does throw nicely and will not break if you hit your target correctly. If you miss or hit indirectly it will break the handle or tip very easily but those can easily be fixed or made even better. As far as the cold steel recommendation I certainly wouldn't go that route but to each their own.
