Buy The Little Book of Psychology: An Introduction to the Key Psychologists and Theories You Need to Know 1 by Riggs, Caroline, Ralls, Emily (ISBN: 9781786858078) from desertcart's Book Store. Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: An excellent balance to the content and simplicity - With so many different mental health conditions and understandings of the human mind still developing it is interesting to have an understanding of just how far things have come in the field of psychology and a little about some of the beliefs of the major names in the field and that is exactly what this book sets out to do. This is not a book which is aiming to delve deep into psychology but is instead to give an overview of some theories, beliefs and understandings of psychology and enable the reader to gain some comprehension of the field so they can see if this is something they may wish to do a deep dive on. For me this was an interesting book which gives a good balance of being simple to understand but not tying to dumb down the information for the reader. The authors have clearly worked to put things in a format and flow that will work and for me I found this to be one of the biggest pluses as some of these kind of works can sometimes feel a bit muddled, thankfully this is not the case with this book. Review: Great little gem of a book - This little gem of a book is perfect for anyone who wants to delve into the popular and insightful parts of psychology. Easy to read for the non-psychologist and with an enjoyable flow that fits together well. Great for anyone new to psychology or is about to embark on their own journey of study. I am a PhD clinical psychologist and obviously have studied the topics for over 35 years so why did I buy this little book? Even old hands sometimes need a reminder of where that love of psychology started and this little book does just that.

Very difficult to recommend
I struggled to score this. It is comprehensive, well written and accurate; but it provides ammunition for the pub bore pretending to be an expert. It is also a great crib sheet for an A-level student. Should I give a loaded weapon that works well five stars? If you genuinely want to know more about the subject, without immediate academic pretensions, splash your cash.

only good things to be said!
i genuinely don’t have anything negative to say about this book. it has an aesthetically pleasing design and the book pages are great quality (strange compliment but hear me out!) i really appreciate that you can highlight and annotate these pages without any transfer onto other pages or bleeding! the information is so insightful, giving names, dates and background info galore. the price is outstanding and the authors are so talented. (2 women, let’s go feminism!) this book is just so awesome and i feel like a bit of a nerd for being so happy about it.
