Works beautifully! And immediately. Not even a hint of rats or mice now. Much more effective than peppermint oils that you constantly have to respray. Once I power washed the engine and engine compartment to remove any rat droppings and nesting material, using Gum-out spray-on engine cleaner, I installed the unit. It was easy to attach to the car battery and zip-tie the unit onto an engine hose. Turned it on, and checked the engine for the past 3 weeks. No droppings. The rats would have immediately returned was it not for the electronic repellant. Could not hear the unit at all. The LED light flashing was even apparent in bright sunlight. Saved money and hassle versus sprays.

I installed this 6 years ago and works until now. It is so easy to install. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

This under-the-hood flashing light has been a great addition to help keep mice and rats out of my engine. The light is bright and the flashing pattern seems to do the trick — I haven’t seen any signs of mice out ears since installing it. It was easy to set up and gives me peace of mind, especially during the colder months when critters like to sneak under the hood. Simple, effective, and worth it!

Flashing led liights stopped working after 1 year, no idea if high frequency sound is or ever has worked. While installed,sStill evidence of rodent activity under hood even when lights were working. Gimmick or low quality item, either way Not a remotely effective solution.

Hello again, everybody, Mr. B here. I had purchased this product couple years prior and it was the battery version. Unfortunately, it lived its lifetime so I had to purchase another one and I was smart and purchase the direct connect version. You connect to the battery, and it is a very very easy connection process. Doing my research on the common rat that we have in Baltimore, Maryland, you learn they are creatures of habits so when you install the product, it takes approximately a week for the rat to return day after day and , learn that there is something there stopping him from hanging out. But then they never returned. You have to pressure wash your vehicle to remove all smells of the rat. Because that’s how other rats know where to hang out. We use social media and neon signs, they use their urine. Sorry I went into so much detail, but I am very pleased with this product and would recommend it to anybody that has problem with rats and if you have rats around your property and you’re being naïve and think they don’t get up in your engine well after your first $400 repair bill on wiring you wish you had took my advice! I don’t think there’s enough room to explain why the rats true on your wiring but if you can do your research about electrolysis that will explain why they think There is water inside your wires!!! There's seems to be a great deal of debate as to whether or not any style of ultrasonic rodent repellers work. Reviews on Amazon seem to indicate that some are better rated than others. I decided to give one of the higher rated ones a try. I just installed it in my engine compartment today, since winter weather is paying us a 48 hour visit tonight. That's the reason for my 3* review. It operating like it should. I'm using it it conjunction with Fresh Cab rodent repellent pouches. Probably tomorrow, I'll dust the car off and put its full cover on for its long winter's nap.

Highly recommend. This thing has worked great. My truck lives outside and I would regularly find rodent nests under the hood along with chewed wires, hoses, etc. I have had this product installed for about 2 months now and I have not seen any evidence of rodents despite my truck sitting for most of that time. It also does not seem to use much battery power as I have no trouble starting up even after several weeks of not driving.
