The gate overall is sturdy, attractive and perfect for the space and what we needed it for. Our little dog loves being able to see us and we like that it is easy to open and close and if needed, the keep the door open with freedom for him to go in and out. Now as far as setting up the gate, there is one thing to be aware of. - Do not undo the orange zip tie thing around the gate holding the plastic door. Be sure when you install to keep that strap on until it is fully set up and pressure locked. We did not and it was a lot harder keeping the gate in place to install. My husband thought the gate was initially broken because of the way it was opening while off the wall. - However once the gate is pressure locked in place on the wall the door will easily open and close. To open just push the button down, pull straight up and pull the door out. The instructions weren’t super clear on that. So I wanted to be sure to mention that. I am someone who reads every review before making any kind of purchase. So I thought I would bring that up! Overall we are super happy with our purchase! (We had tried so many other gates, and either the gates were too short, did not have an opening door option, gate bars were too wide and our little guy was able to slip through or one of the gates we had was a retractable gate and he was able to slide out underneath. Or the gate just was not able to stay on the wall and would come undone on one side or the other.) This gate however is super well made, but also it is not an eyesore. It is much heavier than any of the previous gates we have owned, so it definitely takes two people to get out of the box and set up. We love that this gate offers the 3M holders too. It is definitely pricey compared to any previous gates we have had, but in our opinion it is worth every penny. 5 out of 5!

This baby gate held firm with all three of my large dogs and one small regularly pushing against it. I had four identical gates at the top of the stairs in my last rental house and didn’t have an issue with any of them. It’s a beautiful gate, super easy to use, to where kids could figure it out, and it held to the walls with tension so no screws to damage the walls and it’s very adjustable in size so it fits all my doorframes and hallways. This is the one baby item I recommend to everyone as a must, and now that we’re expecting our first child, it is the only item that we are bringing over from the mainland and carrying back to Hawaii since it doesn’t ship here. I know that this gate will protect our kid from our dogs, where as others I’ve never been able to rely on.

Love this gate. It’s clean, easy to set up, has multiple ways to install (tension rods, screws and mounts) comes with a level and operating manual both in English and Spanish. I have a son and two dogs and it’s holding up perfectly! Highly recommend!

I love this gate. My husband and daughter built it together for a father and daughter project! They didn't find the directions hard to follow and placed in the room without difficulty. It looks amazing and will prevent our grandson and my daughter's puppy from going into the game room. It is very sturdy. I love it so much I am buying a second one for my office! It's a little bit pricey. But looks looks classy. We bought a wooden gate a while back for a different area of the house that simply is not sturdy and the baby has been able to topple it over! Very scary. If they had longer ones like this one (I need about 80 inches) I would buy it as well.

I love the appearance of this compared to a baby gate with bars -- much more unobtrusive. HOWEVER, I got it to keep my parrot out of the back of the house. He can climb anything with bars in two minutes flat. When I got this, I needed to use the extenders because of the width of the hallway. They have bars. He climbed it in two minutes flat. I was able to solve the problem by getting pieces of plexiglass cut to the appropriate size to wire over the extenders. Sure would have been nice if they had been made that way in the first place. And would have made it even more invisible. It's already expensive compared to other solutions. I still think it's worth it overall but could be even better. FYI I also have two cats. They could easily jump over it but have never tried, unlike a baby gate with bars. I think because the top doesn't give them as obvious a landing pad they stay put.

This gate is stylish and perfect. My dogs can no longer go up the stairs when they want to in my house: I love the lock mechanism.

Although it's beautiful, my small puppy can push right through even when the gate shows it's locked. I can't imagine this would hold a child back which could be dangerous on stairs!

We purchased this gate to help contain our westie puppy. We were so impressed with them that we purchased two more and will be buying some for our vacation home too. This gate is in a class all its own. I love that it's slim, sleek, transparent, pressure mounted and sturdy. It feels solid, substantial and well made. Overall, we are very happy. The only thing I wish is if it was made from some sort of a scratch resistant acrylic or tempered glass as my puppy has left scratch marks on the face of the gate. I am now trying to train him not to jump up on them and scratch because they are THAT NICE. Would not be an issue for babies, toddlers
