THIS STAND IS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!! I recently bought a Vizio 50" Smart TV to replace a Vizio 32" that was on a shelf in an entertainment center. That space was now too small so I put the new set on a temporary table and started looking for a TV stand. I wanted one that was nice looking, not black, reasonably priced ($100-$300) and didn't have a lot of open shelves. Plus I didn't want glass doors covering the component shelves. I initially started looking for stands that were at least 27" high since the shelf in the entertainment center was that height. I discovered that most of the stands were either 24"-25" high and then 29"-30" high. However, after watching the new TV at a 30" height, I decided that was too high for my comfort. So I went back and concentrated on the 24"-25" high stands. This Sauder Harvest Mill Credenza in Abby Oak fit my needs perfectly. It IS quite a bit darker than the picture but is so nice looking I'm sure that's why I and all the other purchasers keep it. What sets it apart are the curves in the middle sections top to bottom. It turns what would be an ordinary looking stand into a striking piece. I am not kidding--it looks like a much more expensive piece of furniture, EVEN not being real wood. I would challenge anyone looking at it for the first time to not be able to tell the difference. It is gorgeous. I know a lot of reviewers had problems putting it together. For me, the instruction book was very thorough--very good diagrams. If you methodically follow each step it goes together perfectly. Before I started, I identified each part and laid out the hardware to make sure nothing was missing or damaged. It does take several hours to put the stand together and then get all your components back in place. The only glitch was with the right side door. The mounting screws for both doors went in very tightly. The left side lined up just right top to bottom side to side. The right side was too far away from the stand on the hinge side and it was very difficult to adjust it. I had to take the hinge off several times to figure out exactly how to adjust it. But I finally "got it" and fixed the problem. I have a Sauder desk and hutch that I put together and this TV stand was much easier. But the quality of the TV stand is far superior--I repeat--it would take a master carpenter to tell that it's not real wood. It really looks stunning.

Good Product. Bad Quality Control.
This Sauder Harvest Mill Model 403891 Entertainment Credenza is exactly what I needed for my new 55" OLED television. It is good quality and a good design. The assembly instructions are very good, as is the organization and labeling of the parts. However, there were significant quality control issues in the actual product I received. In Step 3, I found that the holes for the cam dowels were not drilled in panel C. I had to get my drill, drill bits, and tape measure and drill them myself. In Step 4, I found that the holes in panel A that were drilled to attach panel P were drilled in the wrong location. I had to drill new ones. In Step 10, I found that panel C did not have holes drilled for attaching to bottom panel E. Also, panel C did not have holes drilled for dowels used to attach to panel R. I had to drill the holes myself. In Step 18, I found that panel C did not have holes drilled on the inner side to insert the metal pins that hold the center shelves. I had to drill them myself. These quality control issues should not have happened. I bought this same product about twelve years ago and assembled it for a relative. At that time there were no issues at all. Now that I have this TV stand assembled and working, I'm very happy with it. It's exactly what I needed. I hope the manufacturer can address the quality control issues.

Solid Piece of Furniture, Middling Directions
SUMMARY: I am very pleased with this piece of furniture, my second Sauder piece. This one replaces a 15-year-old Sauder entertainment center designed for a picture tube TV and is only being replaced because the new HDTV flat panel won't fit in the old one. Be aware that the item IS - as many have already noted - DARKER than pictured, I'd say probably a "couple shades" darker. THE GOOD: The furniture is made of real wood (vs. pressboard)...the particle board that looks like very coarse sawdust on the unfinished side. Every single hole lined up exactly as it should during assembly and the assembly itself was very easy, requiring only a Phillips head screwdriver for most of the work and a brief use of a flat-head screwdriver. No missing hardware and all hardware was easily identifiable in the parts list, so that you don't accidentally use the wrong screw. When assembled, the furniture was very rigid with no "play" in the parts. The doors opened and closed without incident, with only one requiring some minor adjustment to avoid rubbing. The adjustable shelves were sufficiently adjustable to allow the larger receiver to go on the top shelf and have narrower shelf spacing for the cable box and DVD/VHS combo. The assembled Credenza easily holds my 40" Samsung HDTV with space to spare on either side of it for pictures and/or curios/nicknacks. THE BAD: In places, the manual was sufficiently vague as to allow me to assemble parts backwards before realizing my error when going to install the other piece of the mirrored pair, which forced be to install some pieces twice. The manual would also start with one orientation of the furniture and then change the furniture orientation without labeling the front of the piece, making it harder than it should be to figure out the proper orientation of the next piece to install. RULE OF THUMB: if the screw holes don't line up, the piece is either oriented wrong or you have the wrong piece of a mirrored set. The only other negative is that some of the wood pieces were not obviously labeled with the "A"/"B"/"C", etc. labels. Some of the labeling was done in handwriting on the narrow edge of the piece; it took me several minutes to figure this out which could have been avoided with a statement in the manual indicating where to look for the labels. All of that said, I remain quite pleased with the furniture and with the way the finished product looks. If you are placing this on a hardwood floor, I would definitely suggest that you use felt strips on the bottom corners/edges of the credenza to avoid scratching your floor as you place the furniture in its desired location (or you can do what I did and cut pieces of the cardboard box to put under the furniture). This both avoids scratching your floor and allows the furniture to slide into position much easier.

Sauder delivered the credenza unit extremely quickly. It is now a discontinued item so I was very pleased to be able to get it. Very well made with good instructions for assembly. Unfortunately there was a small but critical missing piece of hardware and one broken panel board but Sauder made it very easy to order replacements parts and their customer service person was charming and apologetic. The replacement pieces arrived in just a few days far exceeding my expectations. So thanks to the nice folks a Sauder.

I actually have two of these now. At the price point nothing else comes close to this quality. I could probably jump on this thing it's so well engineered. The design dates back to the big flat screen CRT days when TVs weighed 300lbs. In any case it's well built. Assembly was pretty straightforward and the instructions were clear. This took me about a half hour to assemble.

We are extremely happy with the Sauder Harvest Mill entertainment credenza. It went together easily, although it did take a bit of time. The cabinet is well made, all the pieces and parts match exactly. We are more than pleased with the quality, and you can’t beat the price.
