BAD BRAINS

Bad Brains at their best.

Most people reading this are probably familar with this album. This one of the best hardcore punk albums ever made and holds up to this day. Bad Brains play with speed and veriocity without sacrificing melody or soul. Mixed in with the punk songs is several reggae tracks. I'm less enthusaed by these as they are a bit half baked and were done better on later albums by this band. This most recent cd pressing is strong. The mixing is fantastic and it's true to the ROIR tape from the 80s.

I llke almost all the songs on the album. the ones I like have good guitar work and drum work. I'm just not sensing a lot of variety in the music. It's also difficult to understand the lyrics over the guitars. It's really screaming. One song that I did not particularly care for was "Jah Calling". It's an instrumental that really didn't do anything for me. Most songs here are very short 2:30 or less. One exception though is "Leaving Babylon", clocking in at 4:10, this was another slow, quiet song.They went back to their typical fast and hard music on "Fearless Vampire Killers" and on "I" and Big Take Over". I love the opening guitar work on "Big Take Over' good song too. I love the way the drums start off the song on "Right Brigade" "ILuv I Jah" is over 6 minutes long and really not very good, verys oft and slow. I'm not really sure what to say about he bonus track it's 2 minutes long and a very strange song. Overall Bad Brains is a decent albumwith only 3 songs that I did not like. I think the album is worth buying.

From what I've heard this pressing is amazing I got this one for my nieces I was thinking of getting it for myself as well but I'm gonna have to wait right now, Everything about this album is where and how it all started! Besides a band called DE/\TH from Detroit I was blown away by their talent at such an early time check them out. To get back to Bad Brains S/T Album and Or the yellow album is a staple for anyone's collection! This particular pressing was really nice like I said I gave this to my nieces, But the wax addict in me had opened it for them wiped it off with a Vinyl Style groove cleaning cloth. Then let them do the rest I hadn't heard one flaw from it, Thankfully I had another turntable sitting around for them to use because I wasn't having them play their new vinyl on a All In One or Traveler. Okay enough rambling on here for $20 right now its a no brainer to buy unless your like me and come across something else and wait to buy it then there gone. Also I recommend Into The Future!! So So good!!!

This is the perfect record for anyone wanting to get started in the world of punk rock. I would recommend over and over again!

I've had this great album in several of its formats, over the years... There is not a bad song on it. The wax is flat, sounds good, little surface noise , and I am happy with it.

Great CD , as described , arrived really quickly

Durch eine Reportage über Punk auf die Band aufmerksam geworden und was soll ich sagen: einfach nur geil.

El producto ha llegado en perfectas condiciones, con el correcto embalaje. En cuanto a este disco, se trata de una reedición en vinilo oficial remasterizada y restaurada por la propida banda y editado a través de su propio sello discográfico. Hay que tener en cuenta que el material original sólo estaba disponible en una cinta de audio hace casi 45 años, por lo que el sonido sigue siendo low-fi, crudo y visceral, como se supone que debe sonar un auténtico disco de hardcore punk. Dentro del hardcore punk hay mucha morralla que no resiste el paso del tiempo, sin embargo lo poco que se salva es una joya y bad brains son una de esas joyas. Un disco imprescindible.
