Great vice!
This is a well made machinists vise. Very heavy and perfect for a milling machine. A very good value considering the price.

A nice vise but lots of sharp edges
This is a nice little vise for the money, but after I cut myself moving it, I noticed that nearly every edge on the thing was sharp, i.e., not eased at all (hence the 4 star rating). Where a ground edge meets a casting edge was particularly nasty. The vise is definitely worth buying, but be prepared to spend some time making it safe to handle.

Excellent vice especially with a little extra finishing
The one I received is really good! Base to jaw bed is parralel and flat across the length +/- .0003". Fixed jaw to jaw bed is square to +/-.0001". The only surface that I chose to surface grind was the bottom sliding surface of the moving jaw for more even contact. I took off .001" removing the rough milling finish and high spots, and the only surface that wasn't ground. Also, I spent a good hour deburring everything and stoning any contact surfaces. With a little effort you can trade your time for a really nice vice. It has good bones.

Decent little vise for occasional use.
I bought this to use as a second vise, when I need to clamp a work piece at an angle on the table or in my main vise for compound angles. Works ok, but I wouldn't want to rely on it as my main vise. Had to deburr every edge, all were very sharp with random shavings still attached. I expected that from other reviews, so didn't discount for it.

Quality and value
I bought this vise for a mini-milling machine. I have used it and found it to be well made and accurate enough for a home hobbyist like myself. It closes squarely and operates smoothly. Because I use this on a mini-mill space is critical I like the ability to remove the handle. This is a very minor issue, but I would recommend that you take a file to the top corners of the jaws as they were left sharp after grinding and are a knuckle skinner, this will not affect the function, but it will save your fingers. For the money I feel this vise is well worth the investment.

Works good, but beware of rust.
This vise works great, but tends to rust so make sure it's protected with oil.

Not according to specifications & big dent…
This purchase was a disappointment. The vise did not have ACME type threads as advertised. Furthermore there was a big dent on the jaw assembly. The shipping box and handling was ok so the dent was from factory. The handle was not as in the product photos and of poor quality. Due to the big dent the vise is not useable and will be returned. Very dissatisfied.

Nice vice, but still pretty long for a mini-mill
Works well, but a lot of overhang when mounted perpendicular on a mini-mill. Raw metal so be ready to spray it down to protect from corrosion. I found the little feet were too thick for my mini-mill so had to cut them down. Very accurately made, better than most.
