I love these. They are one of the few candies I can safely have, and they happen to be delicious. Perfect size for my mouth! They're not soft like standard licorice, but that's because they're not made with gelatin. Gelatin is made from animal cartilage, aka not vegan nor safe for people with alpha-gal syndrome. It can result in harder chewy snacks, but I like them so hey, whatever. They're not sticky, which is a bonus, and will require a very high temperature before they melt. Personally, I do think it's overpriced, but most food is now because of "inflation," but in reality is just theft by companies who want more money while also reducing the quantity of what is packaged. I do love the quality of these, and I'm genuinely angry I cannot find these at any grocery store in my area anymore. Their other candies are present, but not these.

As someone with a gluten and dairy allergy, finding decent candy, let alone black licorice, is usually a nightmare. But these are a total game changer. The texture is spot on for licorice - a nice chewiness without being overly tough or crumbly. It's got that perfect give. There's no hint of staleness; every piece feels fresh out of the bag. And they're not overly hard either, which is a common problem with some gluten-free alternatives. Plus, thankfully, they're not excessively sticky, which is always a bonus. The overall quality is fantastic. You can tell they use good ingredients, and the classic black licorice flavor is front and center without tasting artificial. For the value for money, knowing I can actually enjoy a classic treat safely makes it worth every penny. Seriously, if you're like me and have to watch out for gluten and dairy, these are a five-star absolute win.

I used to love both the black and strawberry licorice. However, since the "New & Improved" formula, both flavors are terrible. The flavor is off and the black no longer tastes like black licorice. I can't describe the strawberry flavor, but it doesn't taste very good. Bring back to old recipe!

I first purchased a bag of these in an old fashioned candy store in Banff but doubted I’d find them in the US once I got home. Lo and behold, I found them on Amazon! I was especially delighted to find gluten free licorice because prior to this I thought all licorice was out for me after finding I am gluten intolerant. I really liked the taste and smell, so when I got home I was delighted to find i could order on Amazon and not try to hunt them down at a candy store. Now I Subscribe and Save for the 6 pack every month. I have read the reviews that say they are too sweet, not flavorful, too hard or not fresh but I didn’t find that to be true at all, even after receiving multiple orders of these. I would order even more each month if I weren’t watching my weight. My 40+ year old son, who is a true connoisseur of black licorice, loved them too even though they are gluten free so I am not alone in thinking the flavor and Lchewiness is just right. The price seems right for the quality and number of pieces in a bag. They are bite size so a few are very satisfying.

This licorice I love the most, the proof is in the amount I buy on subscribe and save and in between when I run out. :) During the pandemic, I noticed it got a bit harder, but I loved it so, and figured it slowed me down a bit, and I was ok with that. It helps settle my stomach when nothing else will. It has gotten back to perfect recently! I was so delighted to have the perfect black licorice without the wheat since I was allergic. I grew up on the texture of red vines before my allergy was diagnosed, and this was the closest sans wheat black licorice I have found to the texture. The very last batch they redid their packaging, which I was ok with, although I preferred the previous one maybe because I had eaten it for so long. However the texture was also different, softer like Australian licorice, and I realized each serving had two grams more sugar too, which I really didn’t need. Personally, I don’t crave it like I did, but maybe other people will like being softer and sweeter. I noticed they also reduced the marketing fact that is is organic, even though it still is, which I think is surprising, and imo so important with the rice content and a good selling point. I was happy to find one more bag of the OG Yum Earth Black Licorice in my hidden stash. I will miss the texture and less sweetness of the OG that is for sure. They were staled and had no flavor

Delicious and lower sugar than most black licorice. The best tasting and healthiest licorice out there - my favorite by far!

For a gluten intolerant person who loves licorace and hasn’t been able to eat it, this is something I was not expecting to taste and mouth feel like the good old days, but it does. ✅. Bloody expensive but for a treat stash it’s worth it to me.
