A well-built Yamaha with a decent sound
This guitar is well-built with a decent sound - bright highs and moderate lows. The finish is nice, and I especially like the wooden edging on the body, which gives it the feel of a higher-end instrument. The neck is thin and smooth, and it seems they’ve improved the finish compared to A-series models from 5-6 years ago. The fretboard is comfortable to play, though some of the fret edges are a bit sharp. It’s worth noting that while the guitar comes with a sound hole cover and Elixir strings, there was no truss rod key included. Action is a bit high, so you may want to lower the bridge.

a great all around guitar beginners and pro's
this guitar is a little more pricey than others listed, but is WORTH it. a very solid guitar, and consistent. if playing-as just an acoustic, it is warm, yet sparkles. wonderful accessible action! a neck that feels right at home. This case fits it perfectly!!! (Yamaha AG3-Hard Case Concert Size Hardshell Acoustic Guitar Case) This guitar also has as a built in tuner which is at first sounds (like eh) but turns out to be a real treat to have with you all the time. the electronics are very nice sounding as well. also comes with a sound hole cover (not a coaster for your coffee) this helps if there are any feedback issues when playing out through a PA. Yamaha has made a wonderful solid guitar for playing gigs around town, or just having in your house to share with friends or family. Not to mention this guitar will hold up in any studio. you do not need a thousand$ guitar to satisfy all your needs. not cheap, but well worth every dollar. highly recommend, and the purchase through Amazon, they helped all along the way!!!

I thought I would have to return it
I was looking to upgrade to a better guitar, so I watched a lot of videos and read a lot of reviews on the Internet, and I finally settled on the Yamaha A3M. I was wary about purchasing a guitar over the Internet without being able to try it first, but this guitar was not available locally, so I had no choice. Considering how much this guitar cost, I promised myself I would return it if I wasn't completely happy with it. If there was any fret or string buzz, if I didn't like the action, if there were intonation problems, if I just wasn't happy with the sound, I would return it. Dear reader, I have not returned it. I love this guitar. It cost more than twice as much as my last acoustic, and it is worth every penny. The bottom end is big without being boomy, and the top end has a beautiful chime to it. There is absolutely no buzz anywhere on the neck, and the intonation is perfect. When I strum a chord, it hits me right in the feels, which is exactly what you want when looking for a guitar. I think I got lucky, but it could just be that you really do get what you pay for.

Very high value for money.
This is probably the best acoustic guitar I have ever played that is made in China. The all wood construction and quality mahogany tone wood really really gives this instrument a great sound. I have been playing on and off for 20 years and this is the best sounding acoustic I have owned. It is not a dreadnought and won't boom across a room. But you still get a balanced and suitably loud volume from this smaller body style. I am really impressed with the sound dynamics of this guitar. I purchased mine lightly used but in excellent condition. I have tried more expensive Martin and Taylor entry grade guitars and they don't come close. Unless you pay the premium for the higher end of the big two brands you are only paying for the brand. Not worth it. For a sub $1000 all solid wood guitar with a high quality electro-acoustic system, the Yamaha can't be beat. Comes with a premium gig bag.

Dream Guitar
There's nothing I don't like about this A3M guitar. I received it 12 hours ago, and I must have played 5-6 hours....I just can't put it down! The look, the feel, the sound....all of it. I have been guitar hunting for a while, and I'd set my mind on getting a Yamaha. If I could avoid spending too much money, I would, so I ordered 3 different guitars: a FGC-TA ...it arrived with terrible fret buzz and I returned it. Then I got the popular FGX830C....It arrived in a completely destroyed box with the guitar covered in dust. I tried it and really liked it. The 830 offers great value, and it IS a good guitar. BUT! Today the A3M arrived....and boy oh boy !!! Ok. So, the A3M comes with a bag and costs $ 1000. The 830 is about $ 550 but then you have to pay $ 150 for a case; so figure $ 700. Is the A3M worth the extra $ 300? Oh yes - you better believe it is. I would say it is worth A LOT more than that. Normally my fingers would be hurting like H... after playing acoustic for 5-6 hours...but they are not hurting at all! The rolled edges and the butter-smooth feeling of the A3M strings and fretboard....I am blown away (can you tell?). Yamaha...thank you for making such a guitar available at such an attractive price point....this guitar easily competes with guitars costing 2-3 times more. I had really hoped to spend a little less money, but now that I got it....totally worth it. This guitar is gonna stay with me. April 11th UPDATE: Plugged the guitar into my Boss Katana 100 Artist amp yesterday evening......no sound. This is a sad day. Witing for Yamaha to respond. I may have to return this one.

I love this guitar, I'm very happy with my purchase. I am only disappointed that the seller did not slacken the strings before shipment, lucky for me there was no damage to the neck. It plays very nice, and looks and sounds like an instrument with a higher price tag. I plan on keeping this in my collection for a very long time.
