Collected Works of Nana Asma'u: Daughter of Usman 'dan Fodiyo (1793-1864) (African Historical Sources)

I don't think this book is in print anymore so it's pretty hard to find, I think over in the US it can still be found though as that's where it was originally published.It's a fascinating book for two reasons, one it gives unique access into Islam in pre colonial west Africa and two it was written by an African Muslim woman.The book mostly consists of traditional Islamic text on prayer, fasting, creed and Sufism. In that sense it's little different from many books on Islam however, considering the great lack of books on the Maliki school of Islam it does give it an added value.
