As part of a home remodel, I needed to replace six eyeball lights. I bought three of these to try out downstairs and was impressed enough that I bought three more to do the upstairs. The metal construction is high quality and the finish is attractive. They installed easily (more easily than the old lights came out), fit the existing cans perfectly, and sit flush. I don't think any other eyeball fixture - regardless of price - would be any better.

Overall, a great purchase that looks quite a bit better and of course puts more light where desired. I had recently taken the previous trim off and removed the frosted glass and replaced it with a 300W equivalent A23 bulb (had to remove the glass since the bulb was too large) but it still did not put the light where I wanted it. This adjustable eyeball was just what I wanted, used a Feit BR30 100W equivalent bulb and it actually seems brighter than the A23 bulb (likely due to concentrating the direction vice the 360° nature of the A23 and the fact that the can interior was not reflective at all) and shines where I wanted it. I did purchase the NICOR adapter as I did not want to go in the attic to remove the original socket and pull it down to this new one, which is where I had what I thought was my first "this isn't going to work" moment when I could not get the trim to full seat against the ceiling, but a small adjustment and it was good. The issue was the adapter hitting the original mounting socket, but a small twist and it was past that interference. When I took the original trim off, I noticed the wingnuts for the bracket were loose, so I tightened them up, which likely is why the adapter did not fit when the eyeball was pointing straight down. Only downside is this did not arrive with a gasket, so I reused the one from the original trim as the diameter of this and the original are the same. I did not need a goof ring originally so having the diameter the same was good (dimensions in the seller images show 7" however it measures just a bit over 8" if that is a concern for anyone).

A snap to change out flat trim for this eyeball. Looks great and allowed aiming recessed light on 45 degree slope to aim more straight down, completely changed lighting for the better.

First these do not come with the light adapter. They are a direct replacement of recessed eyeballs you already have. They are amazing quality and Easy to replace old ones with. The color is great. Highly recommend for the price

Well build.. much better than the plastic ones.. very easy to install

Great price and practical. Great that you can choose your own bulbs to use in the fixture. Other brands/products have the LED built in, which locks you in to whatever they’re offering. The spring ceiling attachments were a little challenging but overall I’m happy!
