Got this because the original hard drive, that is sitting on top of the XBOX, up and died. Installed this hard drive inside, turned on, connected USB flash for XBOX software and it started installing. XBOX runs great and games work and load a little faster than the stock hard drive. Will update this review if something goes wrong.

Unfortunately, I purchased a ps4 from someone and the hard drive was broken. I bought this to replace the broken one and it was super easy to install set up. Pretty fast too. I'm very happy with this. My ps4 is working better than ever now :)

Just got done doing an entire rebuild, not my first one.. Ended up having to replace the hard drive as well. This made a bigger difference thand doubling the ram. While cpu's can max out on the information they can take at one time, the increase of rpm's means the hard drive provides the information faster. There is also no such thing as too much cash or cashe. This gives you cashe without costing you cash. Bottom line, everything loads at lightening speed and the increase in cashe stabalizes the system. I was going to over-clock the processor and had already addressed cooling to do so. Zero need to do after installing this.

Great item

Working well as my Fedora Core Linux boot drive. I then created another primary partition for home and made-up a mirrored ZFS volume with a used Intel enterprise class SSD from eBay. The new and old combo is working well and I have a safety net for failure. This drive, the other mirrored SSD and four spinning disks all live in a 6 bay HD enclisre that teplaces a cdrom bay. Everything is still working well a couple months after reconfiguration of my 5 year old Dell XPS 8300 desktop hardware.

Son is in college and working on degree program and didn't want to have an external drive to carry around. Installed into Asus Vivobook without any issues. He is up and running and is very happy. He does very little gaming on the system, so has not really relayed anything back about this.

Barracuda PRO are excellent hard drives. I have already bought more than one. I have no doubt that it is a good purchase and an alternative to solid state disks.

Seagate is a brand leader and product is also working like that.

Ottimo per sostituire un vecchio HD in un portatile o per qualsiasi altro uso nel quale sia importante la performance, senza che siano compromesse altre caratteristiche, come ad esempio l'affidabilità. Per l'affidabilità bisogna tener conto che gli SSD non sono MAI convenienti nel rapporto qualità prezzo, altre sono le valutazioni da farsi per un loro acquisto, ad esempio le finalità d'uso, essendo consapevoli che per i prodotti che garantiscono una maggiore affidabilità nel tempo il prezzo sale in maniera esponenziale.

First time received the product which when checked in Seagate website had only 3 months Warranty date. Returned and received the 2nd one which was even more worse. The brand label itself is not there and return process was quite difficult since no brand image was there. Luckily customer care people helped me in returning the product and refund.

c'est le 5eme disque dur de la marque que j'achète et avec lesquelles j'ai n'ai jamais rencontré de problème. Disque dur rapide, silencieux et ne chauffant presque pas.; je recommande ce matériel.

The drive came in an OEM package, ie no documentaion/driver cd or even Manufacturers packaging. The drive was packaged in an anti-static sealed bag, with plastic end supports inside a plain brown card box with I think Polish language writing on a label, this package was then inside a well packed Amazon box. Due to the packaging, I was a bit apprehensive that perhaps the drive was not actually brand new but having checked it out with CrystalDiskInfo, the run-time hours were very low indeed - I first installed Windows 7, then upgraded to W 10, so I expected to have some uptime and all was in line with my estimation. So my fears that the drive was not new were unfounded I am glad to report. I chose this 'Pro' drive over the straight Seagate 500GB Barracuda because the 'Pro' spins at 7200 vs 5400 rpm of the non-Pro and is therefore slightly quicker, 160MB/s vs 140MB/s, but even more important is the 5yrs for the 'Pro' vs 2yrs warranty for the non-Pro. The drive is for use in a low power email server (fanless Gigabyte BRIX N2807 GB-BXBT-2807, 8GB RAM, W10 Pro) running 24x7 so reliability and low power are my key considerations. The drive is not silent, as in how silent an SSD would be, but you need to be less than 2 feet away in a quiet room to hear the spinning. I don't have a non-Pro equivalent to compare the Pro version to. The email server sits about 4 ft away from my desktop machine and I can't hear any noises from the email server. The cost uplift between the Pro and non-Pro versions is about GBP 10 or about 30%. For me, GBP 10 more for increased reliability, ie 5yrs vs. 2yrs (it's not quite as simple as that, but generally a manufacturer will only offer longer warranty period if they believe that one device has a better expected life than another), is easily justified for my application, and my peace of mind.
