Skimming blades by level 5
Skimming Blade manufactured by Level 5 - Top quality in materials and craftsmanship. I have tried other brands this one is the best!!! It is very intuitive when you use it, it is perfectly balanced and can be mastered in a short period of time by anyone. It was delivered quickly and at a good price. In the event you drop it and the durable blade is damaged a replacement blade slides in within seconds.

This tool can make anyone skim coat like a pro!!!!
I am a 60-year-old, fat grandma...but I have a thing for fixer uppers. I just bought a house with the horrible popcorn ceilings, so I have been scraping and scraping and scraping. I was dreading the skim coat because whenever I have attempted anything with drywall in the past, it always ends up being a horrible mess. I was not confident in my drywalling skills, to say the least. I watched some videos about this thing. I asked a couple of friends who are contractors, they had never heard of a skimming blade. I was a bit skeptical, but what do I have to lose, right? I know if I touch mud, it will end up a huge mess, so I may as well try this "miracle worker". I was not disappointed! This thing makes skim coating a breeze. I used a paint roller to put the mud on. I found if I used a knife to apply the mud, I ended up flinging it all over. I rolled the mud on, then used a knife to apply to the edges. I then ran this blade across it and I swear it created a perfect finish! I was literally astounded! I finished one room today and I have a lot to go. I am now confident that I can finish my ceilings myself because of this amazing tool. I actually have nothing bad to say about it. I got the 16". I am 5'2" and this worked just fine. I think a longer length would have become to cumbersome for my short arms. I do not see a need to buy an entire kit of different sizes. I just don't see how all those sizes would be worth the extra money. I have not tried it on a pole. I think I would need more practice before that. I just climbed up and down the ladder, working my way around the room. This is a completely AWESOME tool! Buy one! You will not regret it!

Great Product
This tool is a godsend. Works great skimming walls. Ceilings are a bit tougher. Make sure you keep the plastic guard on the blade while not in use. I'd buy this again.

Super Nice Quality - Great Customer Service
- Terrific Product - Excellent Customer Service - They were very knowledgable and made great suggestions for sizing and use cases - Very High Quality - Worth The Investment I used this in conjunction with a DeWalt 3 Axis laser here https://amzn.to/4njOePc to skim out a wall that was way out of plumb to taper it into a perfectly plumb tiled wall. Worked perfect. 40" is very big for 1 person. Level 5 did tell me this is more of a two person tool. 32" and under would be suitable for 1 person to skim.

Great blade, manufactured packaging
This is a quality aluminum tool. It feels good in the hands and well balanced. CON: why does such a quality product have a cheap piece of molded plastic as a stop. It is pretty obvious why these are arriving broken. The packaging is good except that the blade is packed in and open ended cardboard cap presumably to allow the blade to move and not put pressure on the plastic end cap. However the box itself it almost and exact fit so while the box is in transit each time it is stood on end it pushed the end of the box in towards the blade. Eventually the box softens and the cardboard end protection does nothing because the blade it protects is free to make contact with the outer box and is pushed. Cracking the plastic end cap on the other end. I am going to use the box to store this and put some duct tape on each end to stop the blade from moving outside the cardboard. Update 1/15/21 : Manufacturer contacted me and replaced the broken plastic end cap. I was also advised that the packaging has been changed and I may gave received an old boxing method. Of course I can not verify this unless another item is purchased. However I can assure you that this company cares 100 percent about the quality of their products. Great customer service

A little expensive but incredibly helpful, easy clean-up and came with spare end caps!
I read a few reviews which mentioned end caps arrived broken. I think the manufacturer read those reviews as well because it came with spares! Mine were fine by the way and the tool was nicely packed. I bought the 24" version. It's very easy to use even for a person like me who only does drywall on occasions. The grip position and motion felt very natural. I added compound with another knife and used this to level /smooth everything. It also works well once everything dries as a means of seeing how level a surface is. I was working on a wall which had been wall papered and was not painted so taking the wall paper made a mess of some of the drywall paper (used Zinsser Gardz also excellent). Not only was I dealing with a lot of repaired areas but the people who did the job originally knew they were using wall paper and did a less than stellar job of finishing the wall. There was an obvious seam running across the entire width of the wall at the 4 foot point. Using this tool and with a focus on that part of the wall it looks great! I was shocked that I could make it look as good as it does. One other general tip I figured out and hadn't tried before was I inspected, circled areas with a pencil, marked with "S" for sand, and "F" for fill. A wall with compound on a large area makes it difficult to find imperfections so as you inspect circle them and mark them. I didn't skim coat the entire wall and I primarily used this on the long seam and near the corners or larger areas. I think had I used it even more I would have used less pencil! Great tool!

Level5- real tool
Nice extra knife to have in with the mud tools. I have used this alot as I do minor to major drywall repairs. Ended up getting the cheaper set that doesnt compare to these level 5 blades. Would highly recommend

Worth the price
I’ve been skim coating my walls with drywall blades and it has taken me forever to get them smooth. The skimming blade works great. I’m going to finish in a quarter of the time it’s been taking me. I highly recommend it

Yeah its just an alloy extrusion with a mud blade like all the others so what ! but I think the secret ingredient is in the spring steel blade ! laser strait, flat and tough ! This tool is big bucks so I would not be leaving it on the floor to be tripped on or leaning it on walls! the grip bar is huge and very smooth, I find it to feel slippery in my hands when pulling mud. Thin rubber coated gloves, felt more secure in my hands. Cheers.

Because I hate butt joints in ceiling dry wall I have for years created a 1/8" recess between the joists where I can bend/pull the ends of the boards up and then skim flat with the rest of the ceiling. Since I have only ever had a trowel/knife with a 12" blade I resorted years ago to taking the handle off a 30" hand saw and clamping the blade between two pieces of wood. This I used as a wide flattening trowel. Then I came across this tool, and have just finished three ceilings each with a butt join in the centre. it is PERFECT! Easy to grip, light and produced a smooth coat that needed hardly any sanding. And, as the stainless blade slides out for cleaning, easy to clean. So good I just bought the 12" version too for small patching and repairs! Recommended.
