UPDATED review: very happy with two of these fans
Original review before receiving replacement: Looks nice, but produces a weird humming noise. We have the same one installed in our office, we’ve had it for about two years, and it doesn’t make this sound. Attached video of it starting up. Updated review: Ordered this fan for our home office and loved it. So we repurchased it for our son’s nursery. Once installed the nursery fan was buzzing so I had a replacement sent. This replacement works so well, and without any buzzing noise. The only noise is the start up on the highest setting in my opinion. The instructions are very easy to follow. Follow them closely, because it can be easy to get ahead of yourself and end up messing up to the point you have to restart on the down-rod attachment portion. The remote is super nice depending on your life style. I usually keep the switch flipped on, and have the fan running, without the light on. Personally, I don’t use any of the buttons on the right side of the remote other than the light button at the top.

Pretty good living room ceiling fan!
We have an angled high ceiling in our living room and needed to replace our old ceiling fan. Found this one and thought it looked sharp. Everything worked easily enough. Bought a 24" down rod to bring it off the angled ceiling. The hardest part was actually getting the angle right. At the base of the top cover, it wouldn't allow past a certain angle, so I had to bend it a bit to get it to allow the ceiling fan to sit level. It's not an extreme angle, but still needed it which we didn't think would be an issue. The downrod sizing was also strange because the top part that connects with the base/outlet was 3/4" but the bottom part that connects with the fan was 1". We had a 3/4" downrod we used, and I tightened the set screws so it feels solid, but it meant we had to do some balancing on the fan to get it to not wobble. We also bypassed the controller module in place of a wall light dimmer/fan control. When doing so wiring will be: White(fan) to White(outlet) Blue(fan) to Red(outlet) Black(fan) to Black(outlet) Green(fan) to Green(base) to Green or uninsulated copper(outlet) The blue wire controls the light, so you'll want to make sure you connect it to whatever your dimmer is one. Really good dimming range. Our old fan was a 6-blade 50", this is a 5-blade 52", so we thought airflow would be pretty similar and it is. Pretty good for our living room. Also, comes with 3, 5W LED bulbs, which I didn't expect. My wife really likes the look! Outstanding value. Really difficult to find better quality fans for the lower price, so we were thrilled to find this one. Would definitely recommend for medium sized living rooms!

Nice industrial looking fan
I wanted a fan to replace one that was damaged, and this time decided to pay my contractor to install it as DIYing fans is annoying. To avoid any issues, I wanted to buy one that had regular bulbs that are easy to replace. This fan has a nice industrial look, the remote functions great, and it's really quiet with good airflow. No complaints - I've had other Honeywell fans for longer with no issues so I suspect this will also last me a long time. Note: the product arrived with one of the three included bulbs broken, so maybe throw a 3-pack of bulbs in the cart just in case. I received a some store credit to buy other bulbs after asking for replacements.

Love this fan, remote design is a flaw
I love this fan! It is very difficult to find a nice looking rustic fan that also work well. This one is perfect and works great. However, the downside is the remote. I did not have any issues installing the fan, I found the instructions to be easy to follow and straight forward, although I am very familiar with installing ceiling fans. I will admit this one was different and slightly more challenging to install, because of the remote receiver, which is tricky to fit into the holder and only securely fits in one direction. I wish the manufacturer would make this exact same fan available without the remote (or better yet, just have install instructions with and without remote). The remote is not a convenience, it is annoying to have a remote to control a fan that should be able to be switched on and off with wall switches. I don't care about the fancy settings, away from home and breeze modes for example. Inevitably the remote will be lost and then the fan is unusable. I have tried to attache the remote to the wall in order so that it can't be lost, but then it is inconsistent in working. I would love to replace all of my fans with this one (7 in total), however due to the requirement of the remote I am looking for a different fan option for the rest of the home.

Love them!
I have 3 of these fans in my house, and they are awesome! The design is beautiful. I love the remote that comes with them. You can change the brightness of the lights from the remote from dim to super bright. The versatility of the options on the remote really sell it for me, because my husband is a paraplegic so it's easier for him to control the fan from this remote after he's laid down in bed for the night. We keep our fan at full speed at night, and it's relatively quiet. It seems durable and high performance, considering how much we demand out of it to keep us cool at night. Definitely get good value for the money you'll spend on it.

Good Fans
I have bought this particular model to replace the old broken fans that were in my house when I bought it. The remote is small and replacements can be found easily if something every happens to it. Installation can be a little bit of a pain but thats because your adding a transmitter box for the remote and then 5 wires coming out of it and trying to stuff it all in a small space. The fan works nice though and the blades can be flipped over and it'll give you a new look if you get bored of looking at the same thing. The remote is very simple and on the back tells you what each button does as a reminder if needed.

Kind of confused
I was looking to replace a noisy fan by design. This is a great replacement for THAT. It is quiet, looks nice, remote is great, lights dimm, installation was a breeze all good in that area. Now fans are mostly bought to move air or what we call air flow. Well this fan or at least the one i got is a misterious one. I read in the manual that if you press a button that looks like a breeze drawing it will simulate a natural breeze. Meaning sometime you have breeze sometimes you do not. It also says that if you press any other fan option it will cancel it, well mine seens to be always there. When you do feel the breeze is greeeeat ! That is WHEN you feel it. So thats why i gave it a 3 start because air flow is the main reason to get a fan. Other than that is great. Update: Well have to face the music here ! I had tthe motor on reverse :(. I now and yes i am. Great fan. Sorry my stupidy got in this review.

Just installed ceiling fan - first impressions
ADDENDUM I accidentally dropped the remote about two feet onto a wooden floor. It completely came apart - about 12 pieces. I couldn't get it back together after trying several times. I called Honeywell. I was told that I had to buy another remote for $25 plus $15 shipping. I checked out buying a generic remote from Amazon. The prices are good, but the receiver has to be inserted into the fan and attached - beyond my skills. So, I started over again trying to reassemble my undamaged but multipart remote. I started from the front this last time, laying the front piece face down, then adding the buttons upside down. Etc etc This time it worked. I was using the diagram from the paper user guide that came with the fan. And it worked! some of the buttons are now misassigned, but I labeled the remote. AND I taped all the sides so if it gets dropped again I won't have to start over reassembling it. I am annoyed at Honeywell for producing such a fragile remote. And I am annoyed at Honeywell for being so unhelpful. I don't intend to buy their products ever again. There is a little "door" at the back of the remote for changing batteries which I had not noticed before. Earlier An electrician installed this fan and he had no problems with the installation EXCEPT the batteries for the remote control were old and would not work. Fortunately I had fresh batteries of my own. Otherwise we would not have been able to be sure the fan was working properly. So far, so good with the operation of the fan. The fan is quiet. The light is very bright but the bulbs that came with the fan are dimmable. There are times when I will want the bright light. There are handsomer fans but I wanted easy access to the light bulbs. And the bulbs are the Edison type, which I find good looking. *Now that it has been full summer for a while, I have removed a star. The fan does not move enough air down to effectively cool my bedroom. The room, by the way, is upstairs and is warmer than the other levels of my house. I have been tempted to add a floor fan to increase the cooling. Otherwise, I am still OK with the fan. Accidentally dropped the remote. MANY pieces. I've got them all assembled again in order but getting the little box to close again is - so far - not working. And every time the batteries need to be replaced, I will be in the same situation. Poor design it seems to me.
