We had a vehicle with the CD player ( which we never use), so this holder is the perfect solution for an unobtrusive holder. It is easily adjustable , sturdy, and does everything we need. Good deal.

watch the slot on the cd player. It wont work in truck but does in car. CD slot is not as wide. it holds the phone great and releases it easy. also the plug in in my phone is right in the middle so you can plug in while in holder. it does swivel some so you can look at it.My cd player is straight away. Not tilted up like some vehicles.

This phone holder is good in the fact that it holds the phone tight, accepts a charge cord while holding the phone, and is easy to install. However I cannot get it to tighten up while installed into the cd slot. It doesn’t fall out but still has up and down movement while the vehicle is moving. I would also say that if you have a CD player close to the steering column, the column shifter may contact the phone holder. I have a 2001 Sierra and it is tight against the shifter.Edit: I have noticed the cd slot in my stock stereo has a rather large opening, If it were more of a "straight" slot, the fit would not be so sloppy and would have a tighter fit.

It was hard to adjust the first couple of times I used it. The first time I used it when I had to make a sudden lane move to avoid another driver it flew out of the vent I attached it to and the phone, fortunately in a phone case, went with it. I was using it for directions, not helpful. So much for that. Do I send it back, throw it out, or try again! I went with an inexpensive one, get what I paid for....etc.But I gave it another shot and once I managed to get the screws adjusted properly (they are hard to turn all the way at first) it works much better. I love using this, it puts my driving directions software where I can see it. Because of where the audio output on my phone is, the piece on the bottom blocks it so I need to put the phone horizontal to connect the output to hear it over the radio and the driving directions are wide rather than tall. Tall works better for me. That's really the only con I have. It comes in a brown cardboard box that is very recyclable which is a plus to me.

The most poorly designed engineered piece of grunt to ever be in my truck. It never feels like it actually grabs ahold of anything even though I'm white-knuckling the turn screw to try to make it tight. I have a 2005 GMC pickup when it is in the turned up position it wobbles wildly and the phone obstructs view of the window. When the ball is in turned down position its hits on the shifter and the phone stares at the cup holders on the floor you can't see the screen. Maybe if I slammed it in the door it might stay somewhere but otherwise it's sort of useless

If your CD player sits high it will work well. I purchased this for my 2015 Mustang GT & have purchased a similar product so I gave this one a shot. It's a great product, price & does the job. Except I did not realize before purchasing that the mount faces downward not upward like a prior one I've bought. This one sits right infront of my gears.If your CD slot sits high then you are good. When I take it off park then it's better access. For the price I'm happy better than having my phone in the cup holder lol. (Note 9)

Simple to install. Holds the phone securely, over the center of the dash. Looks like the phone is meant to be there...not some tacky add-on. You do sacrifice the cd slot....yes, you have to have a cd slot for this to work...but who uses a cd slot anymore?

After you tighten the piece that goes into your CD player you would think that it would be sturdy but it wouldn't tighten enough without it falling. Luckily, I still had an old mount that fit the actual phone holder so I was still able to use the product.
