Light, seems to protect my hair well. My hair guy uses it on me, and I followed suit and use it daily now.

I have never used any other product that works as well as this one in giving body to your hair as well as holding it in place. I have fine hair and spray this on my hair before I curl it with a curling iron. After I finish styling, I apply a fine mist as a hair spray. I dont use any other hair spray. It holds great and you can use heat apparatus with it without a concern for burning your hair. I was buying it at Ulta but they quit carrying the large size. I am paying a little more than i did at Ulta.

I am a hairstylist I have found this product that works well for holding a set (curling iron or rollers) in anyone's hair. It is very stiff when you spray it on your hair and left to dry, it makes it very hard to comb through. My best advice is to spray it on one small section at a time and then use your curling iron to curl your hair. This product is meant to be use on (dry hair) a lightly misted section at a time to have the heat protector work on your hair. I sometimes spray it on wet hair and dry the hair then curl, it still works well this way. Also, you may of seen that this product comes in a black bottle that is the newest packaging and the ingredients are the same as what is in this colored (pinkish red) bottle.

This is the solution for my very straight limp hair. I wear my hair long, but prefer to have full body and use hot rollers or curling irons to style it. Before finding “22” my curls would fall out by noon. If I was going out after work I would always have to re-curl my hair. Not anymore. Redken 22 has perfected my daily routine. After I wash my hair I spray on “22”. Then I dry my hair and curl as normal. This is like starch for my hair. My curls hold all day, even in the humid hot Iowa summer. If you have lifeless hair like mine, you need Redken 22!

I have used this products for years and love it. Makes the curls last longer . Big problem with the packaging. It does not come with a mister. Just a jug of solution with a flip top . I talked with customer service and they sent me another one just like it. Somewhere in the warehouse is a giant case of sprayers looking for their bottles of HotSets !

this acts like a setting lotion when I curl my hair with the curling iron, it holds the shape so my fine hair doesn't go limp and flat. I spray it on the hair before each curl of the curling iron. without it, my hair falls flat in an hour in the heat and humidity of summer.

This NEW FORMULA does not perform at all. I'm not sure how long Hot Sets has been around, but I have used it faithfully since it was first introduced. (It seems like my entire marriage, which is 20 years.) The old formula worked perfectly for me. I could spray, curl, allow to cool, then even comb through a bit, backtease, and set with hairspray and go. It would last all day. This new formula has NO holding power. It is like cloudy water (the old formula was thicker and mainly clear) AND it makes my hair oily and heavy. I compared the ingredients on the new bottle with the ingredients on an old bottle I had, and the first thing I saw was that water is now the first ingredient. There are other changes as well. (The seller from whom I purchased it was stellar and issued a prompt refund.)UPDATE: (October 2, 2015) After trying several thermal setting sprays, the one that works best for me so far is Kenra Platinum Hot Spray. Kenra's Thermal Styling Spray Firm Hold No. 19 DID NOT work for me at all, so I am grateful for this Platinum formula. Also, they sell a small 2 oz. bottle that I find very useful when I travel--just buy it once and fill it up! I hope this helps someone!

Redken is a fantastic product. This product really cuts down the damage from beauty products and you do not need a lot. a great value.
