Q: does this fit the innotab 2 also?

The Innotab measurements are 9"x1"x10". The Innotab 2, 6"x1"x8". Should easily fit into the storage tote. You will NOT be able to fit the wall adapter in there (fyi). Hope this helps!

Q: Do the kids have to take this out of the case to play with it or does it flip open and have holes for stuff to plug in during use?

If your child already has a folio case or gel skin on their innotab, the innotab will still fit inside this tote. But, this storage tote will NOT protect the innotab during play. Look for a folio case if that is what you are looking for. Think of this storage tote as an innotab shaped little backpack. It's great for little day trips so your little one can take their innotab on the go and it will be protected and has backpack straps and room for storage for a few games. But it won't protect during actual use, you must remove the innotab from this tote to play it.

Q: Will this hold an Innotab 3s in a folio? There is another case that will fit it, but I really want the backpack!

I think that it would fit. My sons Innotab 3 slides around quite a bit in the pocket without the folio cover.
