If you are a yacht enthusiast or looking for yacht design inspiration, this book is a great choice. Each of the 40 yachts is described in a single paragraph, with a list of basic specifications (designer, shipyard, length, beam, and speed), 4-6 pages of photographs (interiors and exteriors), and plans (floor plans of each deck, and sometimes also profiles and sections). A few of the yachts were not completed at the time of publication and therefore depicted with renderings rather than photographs.All the yachts featured were built in the 21st century, so it does not include any of the opulently restored yachts of the early 20th century. The interiors are done in a range of contemporary styles, mostly featuring the clean lines and modern furnishings.This is definitely a book for inspiration and not in-depth information: the description and specifications only scratch the surface, the 4-6 pages of images give only a glimpse of the often extensive interiors, and the plans are very small. Each plan is 4.5" stem-to-stern (about 1" port-to-starboard); since the ships themselves are of varying dimensions, the plans are of varying scale. The plans are also of varying crispness, darkness, and general clarity. They are adequate in providing an IDEA of how the ship is laid out, but there are many that are too small to actually read.As a source of inspiration for a modern luxury yacht, this is a great book.
