This pump works get for our 3-tiered bird bath. It is reasonably priced and seems very reliable.

I love LG pumps but wish they came with a foam pre filter and a couple barb fittings.

this is a direct replacement of the same model LG pump that we installed over 20 years ago. garden fountain. used daily. many, many hours. not 24/7, but many many hours. finally quit. hopefully this one does just as well for the next 20 years. (this one is about twice the price we paid 20 years ago, but you pay for quality and reliability.) the intake basket protector does a good job keeping debris from getting into the pump.

Arrived quickly. Drop in replacement. After a few days the flow slowed. Very easy to clean the ingested leaves. Bought a mesh bag for the pump and the built-in pump filter prevents the bag from being sucked into the inlet. It has been running perfectly ever since. Highly recommended.

This pump is excellent quality, on par with the Becket brand pumps I have purchased in the past. Its flow rate is great with the 5 ft lift in my fountain. Time will tell if the pump out lasts the Becket pumps that I typically got 2-3 years out of. I will update this review when my pump fails. I have seen some reviews saying people have gotten over 7 years of service with the Little Giant pumps, that would be great, we will see. One other thing to note: I live in western Washington state where we have fairly mild winters, so I leave my pump in the fountain year round just making sure that it does not freeze solid on those rare cold snaps. Update: This pump lasted 5 years running 24/7. Spendy pump but I have not found a better one, and I have been trying for 15 years now. I cant help but wonder about the negative reviews I have read; the only thing I can think of that they let the pump dry out. Submersible pumps should not be allowed to dry out after they have been in service.. I would love to find a pump in the $50 range that performed nearly as well or lasted nearly as long, so if anyone knows of one. let me know please.

I just replaced the pump that I bought with my fountain about 12 years ago. I was told that pump might last two years. It far exceeded expectations. No problem buying a new one. Great device. Update: I have owned two Little Giants. The first was installed with my fountain by the gallery I bought it from. They said it should last for two years. It lasted about 12 years. Therefore the earlier review. I replaced the old pump with a new one that I bought from Amazon. The second broke less than a week ago, prior to the end of the warranty period. I contacted VM Express, the seller, who threw up all roadblocks to honoring the warranty, starting with refusal. At first, they said the warranty was for two years. I sent them screenshots that included my order and the three year warranty period. Only then did they send instructions for return. I then called the gallery where I bought the original fountain and pump. They said the Little Giant is now manufactured in China and that they noticed a sharp decline in quality after it stopped being made in America. They recommended Pond Master 500 gal/hr pump, an American product. They said that this one breaks every few years, but that there is a $20 replacement part to make a repair, something that is not possible with the sealed Little Giant. I am not recommending the Pond Master since I have not bought it yet, but these are things to consider before purchasing the Little Giant. In conclusion, Little Giant used to be made in America. The gallery informed me that Pond Master is made in America.

My fountain recently stopped working. I investigated, took things apart, and found that my pump had finally gone bad. I got onto Amazon to get another - searched my past orders - and found out that the pump that just died was purchased NINE YEARS AGO. This is 9 years CONTINUOUS operation, year round, in Ohio weather which is cold, hot, rainy, dry, etc. I wish everything I bought would last so long.
