The Encyclopedia of Matchbox Toys: 1947-2001

Awesome collector book.

A welcome addition to my library.

I was hoping to find a more comprehensive list of Lensey Matchbox Vehicles with Pictures and even Pre-Production models listed and Pictured. While this book is good it's not as extensive as I would have liked.

Like Lovely pictures of models. Dislike no explanatory text. Admittedly there are pages of information in extremely small print at the end of the book. All in all a must for the serious collector!

Omg this is so informative

Lots of great shots. There seems to be some organizational rationale behind the book, but I don't know what it is. I want to see the cars by year. (And apparently it takes a higher level of understanding to do so.)

I was expecting a chronological order of toys as they came out but that is not the case. About the last one third of the encyclopedia is organized in a manner that obviously suits the author but makes it very difficult to find all the toys that came out in 1953 for example. You can find a group of fire trucks issued from say 1951 to 1963 and the pages to find the pictures all listed out and another list for volvo for certain dates and the pages to find each one scattered throughout. Not the organization that I expected but lots of nice pictures.
