I've only just received this item so I can't speak to its longevity yet so I will lead with that caveat. But as far as how well this heating pad has performed for me I must say it is by far the best heating pad I have ever owned. I say this for a few reasons the first of which is the amount of heat that it puts out is definitely top notch in my experience. This pad has 6 heat settings and I find myself using level 5 for my situation and it is almost unbearably hot but in a good way until you settle in to the temperature. I use it directly against my skin as well. I think level 5 for most people especially if placing directly on your skin would probably be overkill so I can only imagine what level 6 is like. I probably will never try to find out either. Lol The next reason I really like this pad is probably the pliabilty of the pad which makes it very easy to form to your body. On top of that the outer material that comes in contact with your skin is very soft to the touch. This pad delivers heat very fast as well which is another added bonus. You will notice the heat it outputs in seconds not minutes. It appears to be well made with a good control unit easy to read and understand without looking at the manual which is a plus. The control for the unit has back-lit buttons so it's easy to operate in the dark. The screen itself isn't really back-lit but that is unnecessary in my opinion and would only add an additional cost for an unnecessary feature seeing how easy it is to use anyway. The cord is a good length as well which helps with positioning and it's a thick durable cord that looks like it will last. The only thing I would change about this pad to try and make it better would be to make it a little bigger. It's reasonably large enough as is in my opinion so its size is far from a negative by any means but if i could change anything i would make it just a little bigger. But i definitely believe the pad is big enough as is for most uses and that no reasonable person would seriously complain about its size and that's coming from a bigger guys perspective. However if I could change anything I would make it maybe 3 inches longer and 2 or 3 inches wider. Overall it's a great pad that I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a quality pad that can put out a lot of heat (or a little if you wish) and you don't mind paying a little more for it than some of the competitors. It has definitely been a situation of getting what you pay for in a good way so far in my short period of ownership. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this specific pad again as long as it proves itself to be reasonably durable as I expect that it will. For these reasons I give it 5 stars!

Very important information please read this review. I feel absolutely compelled to reach out to all of you about this heating pad. I have ordered this heating pad from both Amazon and Walgreens Online Customer Service it is the best heating pad in the world it does exactly what it says it does it heats up quickly it's plush you can't feel the cords under the casing to casing stays on it has a wonderful Choice of heat levels six choices of heat levels. It does what it says it heats up in 30 minutes. And it's very special because it has the on off switch if you want the automatic two hours shut down or if you wanted to stay on all night. I bought this for myself and also for my aging cat and she likes to sleep on it all night long and I'm not afraid anything bad will happen to it it's very well having said all that I did read a review that said it kept dying on them after just a few months and I found this to be true it kept dying on me and I ordered and Amazon kindly return my money and Walgreens said it was past 30 days and they couldn't return my money. But it has a five year guarantee warranty. So I called sunbeam the company that makes it and they said to unplug it from the heating pad side and also unplug it from the socket and leave it for at least one minute and plug it back in and guess what it works I wish they had more instructions about resetting this but I really want you guys to know this little trick of resetting it so you don't have to go through the trouble of returning it. I think I have bought and returned and bought again about six different heating pads. I kept hoping the company would improve this one problem because other than that I couldn't imagine a better heating pad. Another tip is if you do end up calling sunbeam about the five year warranty because the store that you bought it from won't give your money back to you if it's longer than 30 days. They want some kind of numbEric that is written on the plug itself that you plug it into the wall with. I have low vision I had trouble reading this serial number so I got frustrated because these sunbeam guy was pretty rude. But he did ask me if I had reset it and I asked him what that was and he told me and I did it and bang the heating pads work again. So don't be disheartened if you have fallen in love with this heating pad first try this technique of unplugging the heating pad from the cord and then unplugging the cord from the wall or the extension cord. It really works. If it doesn't work please call Sunbeam and make them honor the five year warranty check for that serial number on the plug I use 400 strength reading glasses and I couldn't really make it out but have that available to you when you call sunbeams. So all of you heating pad people please read this try it out and if it doesn't work call Sunbeam and hold them to that five-year warranty because these are not inexpensive there well-made and their price it accordingly about $36 or so I don't even have to use my glasses to work the buttons I can see without my glasses and that's a big plus I have ordered both the green and burgundy green is not my favorite color but it is a nice green and I can live with that. So don't give up hope follow these instructions and enjoy your heating pad and if not make sure you call the company and haul them to their five year warranty.

UPDATE on 4/16/2025 I am updating and changing my review from 5 stars to 1 because the product failed three days shy of FOUR MONTHS!! Too bad I can't leave zero stars. It is shocking to see when reading the 1-star reviews how many other buyers of this product also had it fail within 4-6 months, and some even sooner. I had a biopsy a week ago today under "conscious sedation", during which the doctor hit a nerve that sent pain shooting from my ankle to my lower back (it felt like an electrocution!). I used this heating pad when I returned home, and then several times since then to soothe the pain in addition to taking Tylenol. Now, however, I get the dreaded "F" error code, and nothing will make it work despite plugging it into different electrical outlets. This is a piece of junk, and I deserve a refund. With so many claims of a defective product, Sunbeam should be ashamed of itself to continue selling it. I expected better and am angry and in pain. ORIGINAL REVIEW As I write this review, I am using this heating pad, and it works as described (on level 6, it immediately heated up). As others have noted, it is a plus that the cord is so long, providing convenience when an electrical outlet is beyond reach. The fabric does not feel as soft as my old green one by Sunbeam, which I immediately noticed when I removed this product from its box. It seems like Sunbeam used a different fabric on this one, and I almost returned it for that reason, but my old one is in storage, so I decided to keep it. Also, although the list price of the green one is $15.00 more than the burgundy one, they are the same size and appear to have the same features, and I was not able to tell from the product descriptions what the difference is between the two. I read many bad reviews about this product (I always read the bad reviews first, sorted as most recent) and will update this review if it fails or does not hold up in the laundry on the delicate cycle. In the meantime, I am happy as long as it works as intended and described.

EVERYTHING a heating pad should be! Our family has used this Sunbeam heating pad for over 20 years. It’s evolved over the decades and the innovations are great. Extremely durable, comfortable and attractive ( burgundy, navy & forest green ). Ours get daily use. A houseful of arthritic humans and pets depend on these for comfort so much that we travel with them. ( lowest setting for pets and yes, the cat in the photos is too fat) I ALWAYS keep two in our emergency evacuation bags. My FAVORITE function is it’s “stay on” mode. Least favorite - the higher heat settings are not as warm as they were in the past. Suspect a federal regulation or litigation at play. Our household puts these through HEAVY DAILY use. I replace them every 3-5 years. Outstanding product. Thank you Sunbeam.

This is a very nice heating pad in a very nice size, 12"x24". The controller is great! Easy to see and easy to use. I love the fact that this has the option to use it with the auto off timer or stay on all the time. I have it on setting 2 and it is VERY warm. On setting 6, it is pretty hot. This will keep my feet nice and toasty on cold winter nights. The pad cover is a perfect material, almost a velour type. It is soft, but not fuzzy. It is a bit more expensive compared to other brands, but there are not very many that offer the "stay on" option and with 6 heat settings, the easy-to-use controller, and this one being a Sunbeam brand... it is worth it.

Overall, this is a great heating pad. Performs well. Large pad, heats up quickly and soft to touch. I've bought 3 of them. Wore out the first one. The dog chewed through the connection on the 2nd one. Currently using the 3rd but I give it only 4 stars because the connection point of the cord and the pad won't stay together. So I'm having to buy #4 to replace it.

I have been using this model heating pad for several years and it is the best that I’ve ever used. I have a lot of post-surgical back pain and aching from a broken hip, and this heating pad is a godsend. I recommended it to someone recently and after reading the description on Amazon, they said it looked lightweight for limited use on neck and shoulders, and that there was no indication that it could be urine resistant if the user accidentally “wet the bed.” I never had that personal experience but my Great Pyrenees did —weighing 125 pounds and very advanced in age. He slept on one of these for two years due to two knee replacements in his hind quarters — and due to his advanced age, he did accidentally wet the heating pads fairly often. And so I kept two on hand — one for his use and one to go in the washer. Every one I have ever owned, including the two for the Great Pyrenees, have been washed on the warm gentle cycle an unbelievable number of times and never wore out or malfunctioned. Highly recommended for extended use far beyond what is mentioned in the description, ie, said to be for use on neck and shoulders. Not so. You can sleep on it, wrap yourself in it, ease those aching back and leg muscles, and it continues to work beautifully.Enjoy.

UPDATE 11/18/24 4 months and it no longer works! Flashes F and NO HEAT. Based on this and other negatives I've listed, I cannot recommend this product. ••••••••••• The heat is disappointing and I do worry that usage will worsen this. Level 2 is just a gentle warming but the highest level 6 is just not quite hot enough for some issues. There is not much difference between 3 and 6. The heat is quite inconsistent throughout the pad and it seems to lose heat the longer it's on. The material is fairly thick and soft (think bath mat). The thickness is great for some areas but not so much for others as it makes it a little less flexible. I'm sure it will "give" better with use. The color green is MUCH darker than appears on screen. It is a black forest green-a very nice color but not what I expected, so take note if color is important to you. The flip side is quite scratchy. I really wish they had put a soft cotton flannel and kept all the warning text for the paperwork instead of on the product itself. That is a real bummer😒. The cord is nice and long, but flat-so it twists. I use it every day so I have to unplug it every so often to unwind and re-flatten it. It has become disconnected from the pad several times so be aware. Also, I like the option to shut off the auto off, but I would like to have the ability of choosing less time- so a 30 minute interval would have been better than a fixed time. I like the safety feature of the default back to auto off. It also defaults to lowest heat level 1, which is a bit of a pain but understandable and smart. When the auto timer (2hour) times out, it shuts off heat but light keeps flashing which is annoying. I go through a lot of heating pads and this one is OK but not my favorite by far.
