Benchmade - Saddle Mountain 15002 Hunting Knife with Wood Handle (15002)

The quality you would expect from benchmade. Very light weight and comes razor sharp as usual. I got this one because it comes with the leather sheath which has great retention and is well made.

One great knife. Handle may be a bit narrow for those with huge hands. Blade is fantastic. Razor sharp as all Benchmade knives are. Sheath has a non-slip design making more valuable in usage, hence I removed the snap strap for more readily accessibility taking into consideration the knife won’t slip out unless under extreme condition. Will keep the strap in the case I’m traversing rocks or other grades where there’s more than moderate reversal positions. Highly recommended for those who want to carry without violating the five inch rule. Blade is sufficiently large enough for any usages. Plus, it’s a Benchmade!

Without a doubt bench made has the best quality knives in the market however, I think that they have been selling the same models for too many years and have avoided using the latest metallurgical steel in the market, such as magna cut. The sheath is very poor quality and design. In my opinion you cannot charge this much for a knife and not parrot with the fantastic sheath.

Very nice craftsmanship. A higher quality steel. Sturdy leather sheath. Knife alone weighs 4 ounces. What’s not to like?

Das Messer bringt alles mit was man für ein gutes Jagdmesser braucht. Ermüdungsfreies Arbeiten usw. Ich habe es mit sehr, sehr scharfen Schliff bekommen. Es war sofort Einsatzbereit, kein zusätzliches Abziehen war nötig. Ich bin rundum zufrieden und führe das Messer täglich im Jagdbetrieb.

Best knife steel I own. Super durable. Razor sharp out of the box. Benchmade is simply the best when it comes to metallurgy, hands down. Now the bad and reason for 3 stars: Handle size. They must have children working at the factory, and they must size the handles according to children's hands. Not only is the handle small, it is tiny! The palm swell is nonexistent, the profile is a touch thicker than the tang itself. Feels like there is NO scales on the handle. Knife sheath is quite pathetic. 2 flimsy pieces of plastic glued together around the edges. The belt hole is a tiny 1" ONE INCH. No one wears 1" belts, unless you're a child. This is my 2nd benchmade skinner, and probably my last one for a while - because of the handle issues as mentioned. Bought one 5 years earlier, and looks like NO PROGRESS has been made on the handle/size. I just dont get their infatuation with micro handles.

I ordered the BENCHMADE Saddle MTN Skinner R/L, Black and Orange. It was not the ridge light handle in orange and black. It wasnt the s90v blade. It was the original model. not the new one.
