Strong sweet taste, but keeps me training
This is only my second time ordering these 40g Carb jels, I've always used the 20g by SIS prior but with training for longer distance I need more grams per hour. Whilst they're similar in texture to the 20g jels the taste is much more intense, a lot sweeter. If like me you have a sweet tooth you'll be fine. Size wise they're the same as the 20g jel and quality of liquid is the same too, really good. They're a simple and easy to use tear off the top then squeeze like a toothpaste tube. I found they help me last well and get to my grams per hour goal. They are expensive but worth the value. I don't have any issues with my stomach on these either.

A Powerful Energy Boost for Endurance Athletes
I recently tested Science in Sport Beta Fuel Gels during an ultramarathon, and I was impressed with their effectiveness. Key Features: * Enhanced Power Output: The new ratio of maltodextrin to fructose (1:0.8) provides a balanced source of carbohydrates for sustained energy. * Easy to Consume: The gels have a smooth texture and a pleasant taste, making them easy to consume during exercise. * Gentle on the Stomach: I didn't experience any stomach discomfort while using these gels, even during intense activity. My Experience: I used these gels during a mid-race lull when my energy levels were starting to drop. They provided a noticeable boost, helping me maintain a consistent pace and finish the race strong knocking over an hour off my previous race time. The combination of the beta fuel formula and the balanced carbohydrate content seemed to work well for me. Overall: If you're looking for a reliable and effective energy gel for endurance activities, Science in Sport Beta Fuel Gels are a great option. Their unique formula, easy consumption, and gentle on the stomach properties make them a valuable tool for athletes seeking to optimize their performance.

Went down well
Used them in the middle of a long run and felt good. Preferred the orange flavour but still palatable which is better than many on the market

Best gels I’ve tried been running for 15years

Greast taste and high Carbs level.
I love the taste of these, the 40g of carbs means i dont need to carry as many gels on my runs. I can't fault them.

Great - no stomach issues!
I bought these to help me train for my first half marathon and thought they were great. Loved the taste and they didn’t upset my stomach. Could definitely feel them perk me up on my longer runs.

These are my go to
I’ve tried many different gels over the years and these are my favourite so far. The consistency is thick enough that I don’t get covered in sticky residue and it feels more gel like than others I’ve used. Not thick enough to save a bit for later though, once it’s open you need to finish it all or risk being left in a mess. I will say that it doesn’t feel like there’s too much in the pack either, it’s a good amount to not make you want to throw up. It’s easy enough to open, bit tricker when it’s a rainy run but I still managed. It gives me the boost I need and most importantly, doesn’t sit on my stomach and make me feel uncomfortable. It’s also tasty which with these things is a bonus!

Heavy on the carbs, but also your stomach.
Positives: Science in Sport Beta Fuel Gels deliver a substantial energy boost, thanks to their higher calorie and carbohydrate content compared to the original gels. This makes them particularly effective for sustaining energy during long runs. The orange flavor is a notable improvement over the original non-beta version. The Beta Gel's sour orange taste is refreshing and much more palatable, avoiding the overly sweet profile that can be off-putting during intense exercise. Negatives: However, these benefits come at a cost. The Beta Fuel Gels are significantly more expensive than the non-beta version, which might make regular use less feasible for some athletes. Additionally, the Beta Gels weigh considerably more, adding to the load you're carrying during long runs. They are also much thicker and harder to swallow, which can be a real issue if, like me, you run half marathons without water. Unlike the originals, these gels don't relieve a dry throat, making them less ideal for hydration management during prolonged runs. This extra weight, combined with their heavy consistency, can be tough on the stomach. I've experienced an urgent need for the toilet during runs with the Beta Gel, an issue I never had with the original non-beta version. Overall, Science in Sport Beta Fuel Gels provide an effective and tasty energy boost, but their higher cost, increased weight, thicker consistency, and potential for digestive discomfort may be drawbacks for some users. If you can handle the downsides, they are a strong option for endurance athletes looking for that extra push

I like the taste of these gels and they are very effective in maintaining my energy level during a marathon. In addition to maintaining the carb level, there's some electrolytes in the content as well. With these gels they are like drinking liquids which allows for easy abortion and can be taken without water.
