I’ve been using the AquaHomeGroup Shower Filter for several weeks now, and I can confidently say this is one of the best purchases I’ve made for my health and home. I live in an area with heavily treated municipal water, and the chlorine smell alone was getting unbearable—not to mention the toll it was taking on my skin and hair. After installing this filter, the difference has been nothing short of amazing. Immediate Water Quality Improvement From the very first shower, I noticed a dramatic reduction in the chlorine smell. The water feels softer, cleaner, and more refreshing—no more harsh chemical odor or that dry, tight feeling on my skin afterward. It actually smells like nothing, which is exactly what clean water should smell like! Hair, Skin & Nails Transformation This is where the filter really shines. After a week or so of regular use the functionality is apparent: My hair feels noticeably softer and shinier. It used to be dry and frizzy, no matter what shampoo I used—but now it feels moisturized and manageable, even on days I don’t use conditioner. My skin is less itchy and no longer feels stripped after a shower. I used to battle dry patches and post-shower irritation, but those issues have significantly improved. I’ve even seen improvement in my nails—less brittleness and peeling, which I believe is thanks to reduced exposure to chlorine and other harsh chemicals in the water. Easy Installation + Extra Cartridge Included The setup was incredibly simple. I had it installed and ready to use in under 10 minutes—no tools or plumbing experience needed. It fits easily onto my standard shower arm, and the instructions were clear and easy to follow. I also love that it comes with 2 cartridges, which makes this an even better value. Each cartridge lasts a few months, so I'm set for a while! Powerful Filtration Technology The combination of KDF, activated carbon, and Vitamin C filtering really sets this product apart. It’s not just about removing chlorine—it also helps filter out heavy metals, rust, and other impurities. And the Vitamin C element is a thoughtful bonus—it’s great for skin and helps neutralize residual chemicals naturally. No Loss in Water Pressure This was a concern I had before installing, but I’m happy to report that the water pressure is still strong and consistent. If anything, the water feels smoother and more spa-like than before. Final Thoughts If you’re on the fence, let me say: this filter is absolutely worth it. It’s made a noticeable improvement in the health of my hair, skin, and nails, eliminated the chlorine smell, and overall just makes the shower experience so much better. I genuinely look forward to showering now—it feels like a mini spa treatment every time. Whether you’re dealing with hard water, sensitive skin, or just want to improve the quality of your shower water, the AquaHomeGroup Shower Filter is a fantastic investment. I’ll definitely be buying replacement cartridges when the time comes!

I come to this review after doing nothing but trying to get clean, clear, safe water in a house with well water that's on a State Well Watch because of petroleum and pesticides leaks years ago. It appears the same pipes are in the house now as then. My favorite feature of this filter housing is that it accepts both the 15 and 20 stage filters shown at the AquaHomeGroup's website. I recently searched for a couple days for replacement filters from a different company. Other companies have confusing filter systems. In my experience, the shower filters do not filter bacteria and Reverse Osmosis filter does, making shower filters equally limited in providing safety from bacteria. The KDF grade level is 55 in this filter, reducing heavy metals,. KDF comes in different grades, it clears the bacteria. KDF 85 not found in shower filters. This Universal housing allows you to choose filter replacements from that brand. Even with a whole house filter, with pipes that are not new, I would use a shower filter. The blue tub displays what comes in the box. The directions didn't specify which replacement filters to use but the AquaHomeGroup made a prompt email reply telling me that both their 15 & 20 Stage filters fit. The last time a technician came to service my Well Mitigation HO filter he told me my other house faucet had tiny pieces of metal coming out of it. This happens on wells where the water has heavy metal. I've pictured my pipe and a jug of water I filled up after I installed this filter. I let the water stand for a couple of days. The water is Clear, pictured below. Yeah! I based my 4 instead of 5 rating on the fact shower filters that come with a thin pre and after cloth filter outside the filter housing give warning my bad water is not being filtered. This housing system does not have that option. Before my cat died of mouth cancer he started to bleed from the mouth. I put him in the tub to shower off the blood. I regret every day I didn't have every filter I could have for this awful water! Overall this does what I expected it to do. I needed it because I had to cut off my hair and I had itchy skin. The chrome filter housing and two filters has an average price point, it makes it a good first time buy to see if this will resolve problems specific to the water in your home.

Our Adirondack Camp relies on a drilled deep well. While the water tests bacteria free, there are noticeable traces of H2S, which greatly annoy Daugher and her son, my 10yo Grandson, when showering. While we do have an under-kitchen sink iSpring RCC7 RO system for drinking and cooking, the only whole-house filter is a basic sediment. So when we had the opportunity to test several different AquaHome shower filters we did so. This review is for the 'well water', 'hard water', and impurity-reducing versions. What is in common between them all is the size of the cases and filters is exactly the same. This means when you buy filter replacements, you can change types no problem. However, if you have different types already, take care as the replacement filter boxes and filters themselves are completely unmarked. Easy to mix up - so keep the replacements in the original box. I immediately sharpie marked everything. Now please look at the listings Comparison chart. This is where you get the differences explained between these filters. The 'Well Water' version has the most 'green checkmarks'. It also is no more costly than the others. So this one was installed in the bathroom used by Daughter and Grandson. Our second bathroom shower is the one I use. I recently installed a 'rain shower'- type head, while keeping the hand held sprayer for thorough soap off - everywhere. I apparently am not as sensitive to H2S smells, though I do notice them on occasion. After reviewing the comparison table, I installed the 'Hard Water' version, since we have no problem with chlorine, and I had no real issue with H2S. But I thought it might be nice to have softer water for easier 'soaping up', shampooing, etc. I am pleased with my choice as well. The third filter, impurities, was installed in my winter Seniors apartment. This has 'city water' provided by the small village also in the Adirondacks, The water is heavily clorinated. All filters can be expected to last about 10,000 gallons. This is standard capacity for KDF/carbon shower filters. Equivalent to ~6 months at 55–60 gallons/day (2 showers). 4 persons? Change in 3 months. Daugher and Grandson happy. That's 5 stars. And so am I. 5 stars. Different optimizations work nicely on deep drilled Adirondack well and chlorinated city water. Tip: Be sure to wrap plenty of teflon tape around the threads of the male shower connection, after removing remnants of the old tape. Wind the tape on Clockwise. Even so, don't be surprised if it still leaks and you have to fiddle with it. These 'NPT' - National Pipe Taper - are an asinine design from c1900. They never completely seat right because of the da---d taper. Newer 'compression' fittings have taken over under-sink, but NPT remains for showers.

As a participant in the Amazon Vine program, I received the chrome version of this product for free in exchange for an honest and unbiased review — my thoughts here are not influenced by this and are entirely my own. This is a high-performing and well-packaged shower filter that impressed me right out of the box. Installation was a breeze (took less than five minutes) and it comes with everything you need: plumber’s tape, spare O-rings, an extra cartridge (a rare and appreciated inclusion), and even several shower caps (not my thing, but a nice bonus). I ran the filter through some water tests against Chicago tap water, which is known to be some of the most over-processed and chlorinated tap water in the country, see below for the results. Look and Feel: The filter feels sturdy and looks sleek. Once installed, it’s not bulky or obtrusive, though I would recommend choosing a finish that matches your existing showerhead for a cohesive look. I received the chrome version through the Amazon Vine program and while it works great, it doesn’t quite match my nickel hardware — but I won't hold that against them. Value for Money: This model comes in at a slightly lower price point than most similar products, and you get two filter cartridges instead of just one. That alone makes it a great value, especially considering my tests show it works as well as, if not better than, filters that cost more. Smell: There’s no detectable odor in the filtered water. That said, Chicago tap water doesn’t usually have a strong smell to begin with, so while there’s no dramatic before-and-after here, the filter certainly doesn’t introduce any off-notes. Skin Softness: After a few uses, I haven’t noticed a dramatic change in how my skin feels, but this may evolve with longer-term use. Either way, the water feels fresh and clean during showers, with no dry or tight feeling afterward. Performance Testing: 🔹 Chlorine Test – I used chlorine reagent drops on both unfiltered Chicago tap water and water run through this filter. The tap water turned bright pink (high chlorine), while the filtered water stayed totally clear. That’s an unmistakable win. 🔹 TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) Test – Both tap and filtered water read 164 ppm. That’s expected, this filter doesn’t necessarily remove minerals, and may actually add some beneficial ones based on the product specs. Chicago tap doesn't have many dissolvable solids that need to be removed from its water. Final Thoughts: The unit looks clean and modern, doesn’t leak, and doesn’t reduce pressure. If you have a brushed nickel showerhead, you may want to match finishes (this one’s chrome), but that’s more aesthetic than functional. 📸 Photos show my installation, contents, and test results, worth a glance if you're on the fence. 🎥 Video will show my testing results ⭐ Overall: 5 out of 5 stars. It’s affordable, effective, easy to install and thoughtfully packaged. If it can handle Chicago's over-processed water, I’d trust it anywhere.

I wasn’t sure if I’d really notice a change but yes, this shower filter made a huge difference. The water feels cleaner and softer, and there’s no more weird smell or dryness after I shower. It was super easy to install, and I love that it came with two cartridges right in the box. The pressure is actually better than my old showerhead, which was a nice surprise. I also like knowing it has vitamin C, it feels like a mini spa upgrade. My skin and hair already feel less dry, and that’s after just a few uses. The metal finish looks sleek and modern too. Honestly, for the price, this was a smart and simple upgrade for my bathroom.
