Swad Shan Zafrani Garam Masala Powder, 1.7 Ounce

I am delighted with the Shan brand. This product is excellent, and I have written them to ask for a much larger quantity, hopefully in a large plastic jar. All the work of creating a great, spicy Garam Masala sauce is done for you. Buy this. It is fabulous!

Like any Indian spice blend, each garam masala is different. I bought this for Butter Chicken, and also bought some garam masala at Whole Foods. This particular one is more "cumin" to the nose/palate, while the one from WF is more "cloves" - so I generally use some of each when a recipe calls for garam masala. If you've never tried Butter Chicken, look up a recipe, buy some garam masala, and get cookin'! My husband would eat it every night - it's that good!

I ordered this garam masala based on the great reviews. As a newbie to this flavor, I'm glad I wasn't steered wrong! I heard each garam masala is a little different, so you may want to check the list of ingredients first if you are buying it to follow a specific recipe. I am looking to broaden my cooking and saw a really nice coconut rice pudding recipe which called for garam masala - just tried it out and the spice was comforting and not overwhelming or spicy.

This is my favorite Pakistani spice brand. Their products are great quality, affordable and always have the right balance of spices and herbs. This product was no different and I didn't find any particular spice over powering the rest. Another great garam masala brand is from National Foods.

The batch I received tastes overwhelmingly of cloves. It overpowers the other spices to the point I can taste nothing else. I won’t order this again.

This Shaan saffron garam masala has very unique taste. This has a unique taste unlike our normal Indian garam masalas. This can be put in almost all vegetables we make. Tastes great in Pulav's and different rice menus. I advise users to use a very small amount to get the very subtle taste of this garam masala. A must have garam masala.

Product expiry is quite far- very good!
