Great value power meter
Screen is clear to read in normal light conditions. Easy to set up and has the functionality I was looking for, including low and high Watts kept. Doesn't have a back-light for the screen so if used in dark places, use the torch on your mobile smartphone or a normal torch to shine on the display. I've used it to track how many Watts were used boiling a kettle. Showed the Watts been drawn, scroll through the options revealed the amps voltage in real time then once the kettle had finished can scroll to see the highest and lowest Watts drawn. I then reset the device and tested the next appliance (don't have to reset if you want to let it continue adding up Watts consumption and days taken etc) With the fridge freezer plugged in and left for 24 hours give its usage plus high and low values. Plugged my EV 'granny charger' into it for my electric car to monitor the kwatts been drawn from mains 3 pin socket and at what rate. Other things I've tested are microwave, washing machine, toaster, slow cooker. It was useful to see that some appliances draw a but more power that is said on the label and others are within the label specifications. Useful to know if you have more than one item plugged into say an extension cord eg computer, monitor, printer, cooling fan or heater etc

Very helpful to track consumption
However i didnt test if it is correctly measuring electricity... hope it is not wrong because i stop heater at a certain usage per day to maintain control of my expense.

A good grip on power usage
Great for monitoring devices in house and workshop. Easy to do the math on cost of running something - just know your cost per KwH.

Timer Doesn't Work when Measuring Low Power Devices
The device works pretty well, but the timer only shows time above a certain power level (maybe about 2W), and other than that stops counting, although the kWh does go up, so it's definitely still measuring; as a result, if you want to know average watts over a long period for a low-powered device, you have to time it yourself, which is a bit annoying. Other than that, it works very well, and all the numbers seem correct (it even gives power factor). Also, the internal battery has failed within a few months of owning it, but it doesn't stop the thing working, it's just you can't view the display after you've unplugged it now.

This device will save you monry !!!
This device enables you to read the power and its cost for any electric device connected to a stadard 13A UK plug. On a machine with a complex working sequence, such as a bean grinding coffee machine, it enables you to identify the individual stages, such as bean grinding, pre cup water heating, water boiling and infusion, then grout compaction and milk steaming. The power at each stage can be identified with relative ease. Knowing the cost of boiling a full kettle, versus just two cups full, can alter your normal routines and save you money. I was so impressed that I bought one for my son.

Not all functions are working
Very disappointed with this product. The kwh reading does not work at all so it makes it impossible to track the usage of an applicance over a period of time. You can key in the electricity cost per kw/h but this is irrelevant because the kwh reading doesn't work so neither does the 'toal cost' display. With regard to display quality, the meter could do with backlighting to make reading it easier. All in all I wasted my money.

Simple way to check current on any given socket
I bought this prior to speccing a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) for my office at home. Although I had notional current usage figures for each of the devices I want to run, I'm aware that some of the devices I'm powering have variable current requirements, in particular the desktop pc. This simple, cheap device validated my notional figures and, because it also captures minimum and peak current, allowed me to factor these in to specify the right capacity UPS (too small and it may not last long enough to power down the pc safely, to large and it won't work efficiently with the smaller loads from the BT Home Hub, IP phone and portable phone). Money well spent for this alone, although I'm now going to use it to check some of the "on standby" current draw on other devices to see if it's as negligible as the manufacturers state!
