The box itself is beautifully made, the hand-carved design looks even better in person, the color is exactly like in the pictures, and the wood feels solid and well-finished. It’s a nice decorative piece that also works great for storing jewelry, small keepsakes, or art supplies. The hinges and latch are sturdy, and the carving detail gives it a really elegant, handmade touch. The only downside was a funky smell when I first opened it kind of like varnish or wood oil. It wasn’t overpowering, but noticeable. Luckily, after leaving it open for a few days, the smell faded completely, and now it’s perfect. Overall, this is a high-quality, well-crafted box that feels authentic and unique. Definitely worth it for the price, especially if you appreciate hand-carved woodwork.

This box is beautiful. The wood is stunning and it is perfectly finished. I got it to hold receipts so my desk won’t look so cluttered. Not only will it help with organization, it looks beautiful as well.

For the price, this is an excellent box. I use it for my Apple Ultra watch bands and a few other items. The wood itself is very attractive, the burl has a lot of “pop”. This size was ideal for my use. Thuya burl has a unique odor, similar to western cedar. It’s sort of a weird odor but it’s a normal characteristic of this wood species. When you unpack this box, the unusual wood odor is normal. Be aware that because this box has a cedar like odor inside, anything you put into it, like Apple Watch bands will also smell like cedar. I found that out a few days after the box arrived. I do a lot of woodworking and have used Thuya burl for a Japanese knife handle and when it’s sanded, the smell is very pungent. The saw dust can be irritating to some but as solid wood it’s fine. The high gloss finish is well done. The inside of the box is unfinished, hence the wood odor so be aware of the cedar scent. The thin lid hinges appear to be dark brass. For the money, this is a top rate accessory box. Hope that helps.

Beautiful, well made

I love this box from the product images and what others posted. However, I loved it more in person. I took off one star because the large size is still relatively small and barely fits my tv remote (I got the box specifically to store my tv remote in a stylish way). I wouldn’t return it though because the price is good. I may just need to get the XL too! Update 5/27/23 - I received the XL size today and it’s perfect! So, if you’re considering which size to go for, choose the XL.

Exactly what I was looking for, a very small box to keep a couple of small keys handy on the sideboard, rather rhan dropped in a drawer. Stylish & beautifully made. Do be aware of sizes when ordering, read the description/ product information & don't take the sizing from the pictures as gospel!

This is a beautiful gift for a very dear friend. It is even more impressive than the photos! It would be nice if this box came w a card, describing the unique Thuya wood and brief history of how the wood is obtained and crafted into such lovely products!
