I bought this Gebildet USB fan adapter specifically to power my Noctua NF-S12B redux-700 fan. As you know, these Noctua fans are fantastic for quiet operation, but they're 12v fans and USB ports only put out 5v. This little adapter solves that problem perfectly. Works perfect with the Noctua NF-A12x25 PWM fan, I can now use the dial to increase the fan performance to low or high or in-between. This gives me the benefit of picking the right noise I want and if I do require a bit more better cooling performance I can increase the dial to push the fan more better but this comes at the price of more noise. Its expensive, but its the best fan controller via USB on the entire market, the others have cables that do similar are chunky have boxes and power inputs but this ones slim and simple and just works.

Really great USB to 4 pin fan headers for PC fans. I have used these to connect some unused Noctua fans so I can use them to blow air onto my Mac-mini servers running linux. The servers have USB-A ports which I use to power the fans. USB-A is pretty much everywhere still - so great to have around. I imagine these can be used for other things too, like lighting/RGB perhaps? Good build quality, price and easy to use.

Works nicely with a couple of PC fans that I’ll be installing on the back of a media cabinet to help exhaust the warm air from the AV receiver and other equipment. The beauty of the built in voltage adjuster is the fans can be turned down to make the minimal amount of noise whilst achieving the air flow goal. The cable could perhaps be a little longer but that’s easily solved with a USB extension lead and I imagine for most applications they’re fine as they are.

This adapter works really well. I’m using it with an old 5V USB charger to power two Arctic P12 fans, and it does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Setup was easy and everything works reliably. It’s a great solution if you want to run PC fans without using a full PC power supply. Very happy with it — simple, effective, plugs fit well, good cable quality and good value for money.

These cables work exactly as expected as I used them on some Arctic fans which I have in my server cabinet and they spin at full RPM when connected to USB using these cables. The reason for 4 stars is it would be great if they could be varied so you can dial up or down the voltage, granted that might be expecting too much but if there was a revision to allow this then I would be more than happy to give it 5*

You need to read the fine print and reviews about capacity. I'm using it to power a pair of 140mm fans for a cooling station under my router. It suites my needs fine because I am using it at about 30% on the dial to provide cooling which is absolutely silent. Antec Tranquil fans are high quality and only brand I trust around for a while that truly makes a silent fan. The speed control is quality and sweeps almost 360 degrees with a off position...real nice. My fans come on at about 15-20% of travel. If I turn it up all the way, the fans start to faulter, one fan works okay, but only comes up to about 80% of max capacity. With both fans, I can get up to 50% of travel, which is fine for my application. Specs do warn that this is not for 12V USB fans. Switch has a bit of a radio shack look to it, but my computer is half old school anyway, I think its fine.

My Samsung S90C was overheating, so I used this to temporarily connect a noctua fan behind the TV to cool the PCB, while I wait for the technicians to arrive. Works perfectly. It's plugged to the USB connector on the TV, so it automatically turns ON when I turn on the TV and turns off when I turn off the tv using the remote. You can also use the adapter to directly control the fan speed, so it's great for minimal noise and just a little airflow.
