National Geographic Rarely Seen: Photographs of the Extraordinary (National Geographic Collectors Series)

Beautiful book. Everyone that opens it, spends lots of time going through it. Amazing photography.

Rarely Seen is filled with eye-catching and vibrant photography from around the world. Each one of the magnificent photographs has a title and caption detailing what the image depicts and why. The book is filled with nearly 400 images capturing everything from a colorful eucalyptus tree to a baby crocodile delicately hatching from its egg. At age 13, I enjoy the many extraordinary images taken by skilled National Geographic photographers and the interesting facts. The book is a peculiar size, at around 6.25" x 7.5" x 1.25". It is definitely worth a buy.

Ever stop to think how many things you would never know about or see if it were not for the invention of photography? I have. Rarely Seen drives this point home in spades. Other than that, it’s basically eye candy deluxe. There’s places out there that are impressive, to say the least. Thanks to this book, I know a little about them now and had fun while I was doing it.

This is a presentation book. National Geographic is the name to respect and to expect the best of pictures and authenticated information . This was a gift and I can only hope the recipient will be impressed and pleased with this beautiful book. I wish I had broken the cellophane wrapping and sneaked a peak at the contents. The title promises the amazing and I don’t doubt it will deliver. Thank you Amazon for having this great gift on your suggestion list. This book is worth having on your must buy list.

Great book for photography enthusiastic people. it can be a great gift.

I bought this as a gift for my relative who was ill, and bedridden. I thought it would be something she could look at and see beautiful photos of faraway places without having to read. She did enjoy it.

I didn't realize it was a smaller book in size, compared to the standard book I had seen belonging to a student that had one. Bought it as a gift for my granddaughter who loves National Geographic. She loves in no matter the size. I thought the pictures were much more vibrant in the full size book. But she loves it nonetheless!!

I'm concerned about the binding on this book as with the other two ("Stunning Photos" and "Life in Color"). BUT this one seems to have a little more reinforcement than the others. And it's cheaper. So, I'm going to keep it. The photos in all three books (as is typical of National Geographic) are truly stunning. But, as I mentioned in another review, there are lots of beautiful photography books out there that are better quality books. So, I would be hesitant to order any of these small National Geographic books. They just are not good quality. For $12, sure. For $20-$30, no.

Approx 400 pages of awe inspiring photos full of inspiration and information. Its a little smaller than most books but this is money well spent.

I should have checked the dimensions of this book. It was full of the most interesting photographs, but in a surprisingly small format.
