Nasty tasting
This has to be one of the nastiest tasting soft Serv mixes I’ve ever made. The chocolate taste is a very weird taste and another weird taste that’s very hard to get out of your mouth. It says it’s made with sugar but the taste is almost like an artificial sweetener in it and not a very good one. I’ve had cheap soft serve mixes that were way better than this. Waste of money.

Doesn't taste good and aftertaste is worse.
Universal agreement in our family ... this stuff tastes just plain bad, and that includes several kids that wouldn't say no to any ice cream.

Not perfect but fam enjoyed this
We like this just fine but it isn’t as creamy as our homemade ice cream made without a mix such as this. It’s a bit more icy but was still enjoyed by the fam. (This might be due to us not having an ice cream machine plus the recipe version of this we made. More about that below.) It’s definitely less sweet but no one seemed to care. It’s also a lighter chocolate flavor which again, didn’t bother anyone however, we may make some changes to our next batch. Our first go around was made with: • 4 oz of the mix • 1 1/4 cup soy milk (which was made from powdered soy milk + water as that was all we had on hand as far as “milk”) • 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream I blended this up with a whisk and put it into the freezer and every 2-3 hours gave it a stir. I did that twice then left it overnight. In the morning it was frozen solid. After letting it sit out about 10 minutes I was able to scoop some out. Next time I’m going to use cashew milk in place of the soy and might add some mini chocolate chips. ☺️ All in all, we did enjoy this and feel it’s priced fairly. The ingredients of the mix are few and mostly recognizable, besides one. The one I’m not as crazy about is the “natural chocolate flavor” because all this needs is plain ol cocoa powder which this also has. Full package ingredients for the chocolate flavor are: Sugar, salt, whole milk powder, cocoa powder, natural chocolate flavor. I’m allergic to gum bases (I break out in hives) so I try to stay away from that- which isn’t always easy with store bought ice cream so I’m happy this doesn’t have that in the ingredients. This isn’t our most favorite chocolate ice cream ever but enjoyable enough. Would I buy this again? I just may. I’m intrigued to try the other flavors. My kiddo said he didn’t mind the more icy consistency since it’s been extra hot and humid where we are this summer. I think switching to a more fatty milk will help with that as well as perhaps mixing it more than I did my first go around. (I’ll update on that when we make another batch.)
