looks great. lightweight vinyl / plastic. arrived quickly and packaged well. replaced old worn wooden shutters almost perfectly. comes with mounting peg type fasteners, but I just used a couple long deck screws and attached right to house. worked great.

This is the 2nd set of these shutters I have purchased. The first set I bought last year. I used them on my balcony to shield plants from the intense, scorching sun. This year I decided that they would look nicer and be more versatile if they were hinged even though that is not what they were designed for. I purchased hinges, screws, hex nuts, and tiny plastic screw protectors. Using an awl and other tools, I was able to create holes in the plastic to assemble the hinges. Now they are free standing vs leaning against baker's racks, etc and can be used many places on the balcony. (Note: Using electric devices would be not only less primitive but time-saving. Highly recommend rather than relying on one's own manual labor.) For years I have used 5-hinged wooden shutters for plants positioned higher. The set came pre-assembled with durable hinges and have lasted for close to 15 years. However, I wanted something lighter and shorter for smaller, lower areas, and these have worked well. They also look much nicer free-standing than leaning. The intensity and angle of the sun's rays are not 100% blocked, but the plants are acceptably less scorched. Doesn't matter whether the shutters are louvered (like the tall wooden ones) or in a fixed position (like these shorter ones), some rays will still get through.

They were purchased to add a decorative appearance to our storage shed and they certainly did that. Being a rather lightweight plastic I'm not sure how well they will stand up to our weather, we will have to see. I used both the plastic fasteners where the mounting holes went through only the metal but used 2 1/2" screws where there was a stud behind the metal which give the shutter a better more solid fit. Be careful however, these are plastic so do not over tighten

These are great. Very light weight and easy to install. The mounting bolts (plastic) that they include aren't the best but they work.

Shutters went beside our Windows. Hardest part was drilling the importer. L
