Belfry Crushable Dress Fedora Men's Vintage Style Hat 100% Pure Wool in Black Blue Grey Pecan Brown and Striped Bands

For someone just beginning their fedora hat look, this product is a great value, IMHO. I was searching for a straw fedora since the day I ordered was the beginning of summer. This hat was the perfect style I was searching for with exception of the fabric, The delivery time was only 2 days. The hat had the perfect brim size approximately 2.5 inches. The pinch crown looked perfect. The front had a slight tip down an the back was curved up. The material is felt or wool soft but the brim looks like it will hold shape. The material does have a good look to it but I will need to do a bit of shaping to get a couple of waves out id the brim area. As expected, t did arrive in a plastic bag without a box. I ordered the XL size for my 7 5/8 head size. Fits fine. I though I ordered gray but ended up with brown. Great product with very competitive price equals a value. Sure wish they had a straw like this one.

Very nice hat for the money fit is good, but for the life of me, I don’t understand why they would ship a nice hat without a mold in it or at least a box ,📦 hat arrived in a bag smashed. I can only hope that it’ll straighten out?????

Like the style and material (lightweight as one would expect from a foldable chapeau). But the hat is way too large. I have another similar one in another color from Hats in the Belfry which is fine ( I wear an xl) but this one is so large you can almost twirl it on your head So back it goes awaiting someone with a truly large head.

First off, this hat isn't going to compare with some of the more expensive and well known brands like Stetson. But this hat also costs about one quarter as much, and represents a good value for the money. It's a crushable hat and is thus very malleable. It takes a little care in placing it on your head so as not to accidentally add a dent to it. But should a dent occur, it's absolutely effortless to pop the dent back out. I would like to see Hats in the Belfry make a similarly low priced hat with a little more structure to it so that I wouldn't have to treat it so daintily. But if you're looking for a hat that you can shove into a suitcase and reshape easily once you reach your destination, this is perfect. The material is wool felt and as such is a little fuzzy. Not terribly so, but more so than more expensive hats made of higher quality felts. But once again, it's excellent quality for the price. I love the style of this hat. It's definitely a fedora, but has a slightly different profile than the "classic" fedora that movie gangsters typically wear. I also love the contrast between the grey wool and the black band, as the hat pairs very well with my charcoal suit and black wool overcoat. We had an early snow in Ohio this year and the hat handled it very well and kept my head reasonably warm. I haven't worn it in the rain, but it's not advertised as being waterproof and doesn't look like it would be. The wool is thick enough that it wouldn't get saturated right away, but any long duration in the rain is bound to get the hat fairly wet. I might look into treating it for water resistance since I'm not sure how getting wet will effect the hat in the long run. I do think that the size is a little off. I ordered an x-large based on the sizing charts on the Hats in the Belfry website and it feels a little loose. Not quite big enough to warrant returning it, as I fear that the large size might be too small, but if you're in between sizes, you might want to consider ordering a size down. For reference, I'm a 7 5/8. Overall, it's a great hat and it's cheap enough that you don't have to be upset if it gets ruined. Also, since it's crushable, you don't have to worry about leaving it at the coat check and finding your hat ruined later in the evening when you retrieve it. It's made in the USA if that matters to you; I consider it a bonus. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this brand for future purchases.

Recently I bought a wonderful fedora from a haberdashery in Philadelphia. It cost me $150 and it really is quite a hat. When I received my Belfry Bogart fedora imagine my surprise when I opened it up and tried it on! It is beautiful! You can wear the brim up or down (like Bogie) and the fit was perfect! I mentioned the price of my Philly fedora because my Belfry was a fraction of the price and honestly the quality was on par with the $150 hat. I am a hat freak and have several fedoras and trilby (Frank Sinatra) hats. The Belfry is easily one of the best hats I own. Comfortable, fits right on the money, looks FANTASTIC and the price is far less than any expensive brand. If you are a beginner to fedoras or an experienced "wearer" this hat won't let you down. BUY IT!

Great hat! No lined, but beautiful. Hubby really liked it. Hard to find the sizes that are correct though...depends on color and size choices for availability. Packaging could have been a little more solid.

The is a good buy for the money good quality the material is very smooth feel nice on your hands. I do really recommend.

I think this hat isn't worth the 50 bucks but it is crushable I'm going to have to steam out all the dents since they shoved it in a bag and they didn't give me the feather so it's a good thing I bought two feathers this was my first Fedora in my journey so I'll take it as a learning curve.. if you want a good hat you've got to spend the money

My original review for the black Hat is below this one. I have since bought the brown model and in my last order the light blue, navy. Silver Belly and Purple. Hat band is thicker on silver belly. light blue and purple. Nicer look The new hats are clearly of a thicker more quality felt that justify the price in CAD. Local vendors would sell you these higher priced. I had the Brown one in hand while trying the new shipment and it is clearly of a thinner more light weight felt. I bought the brown for everyday use. It was 20$ cheaper Hats in the Belfry is the store you want to buy from. They almost overnighted the hats to me it was so fast. A few facts on my reaction when opening the box. The Light Blue is just as cool as in the pics. The Silver Belly I expected to be a little more in a light grey rather than beige ish hue. It will still match a perfecto I had ear marked to wear with it. I also expected the navy to have a more crushed blue velvet hue but it is still very nice. I got a navy player hat from classic italy that is almost black and this one is clearly blue from a distance. The purple is also a tad more on the cold hue than my elderberry suede converse ...but with my hendrix purple haze t shirt it should be fine. All in all shipped in a big box with no damage . all had feathers . A nice touch would be to ship with a strip of hat tape for the in betweeners like hanshow hats and b hatshop do. I liked that a reviewer had a picture. his profile showed how nice and squared it is and has a low side profile. Short brim is just cool. I got this because I went to A zeppelin symphonic concert and the guitarist just rocked his porkpie hat with such coolness. I had to try one and see if I could look as cool in the mirror. This hat had that groove factor. I like how it looks on me. It hasnt affected my guitar skills one lick but I like the hat tremendously. I highly recommend it to the musically cool and all other afficionados.

great hat, beautiful hat. well made and the feather is real. hat hack if you have a tiny little pea head like me: purchase hats in size L or XL and then resize them with adhesive hat sizers which you can purchase here on Amazon. that way your new hat still looks substantial on your head, as opposed to size S which i find often just emphasizes how tiny my head really is
