These are leaking all over me and the baby, i have ensured they are as tight as possible but unfortunately they are faulty.

They leak and the white ones don’t. Not sure why. Some leak more than others

Dr. Brown’s bottles are our only choice for our micro-preemie daughter. They’re perfect and work wonderfully. Highly recommend!

Other than leaking (before I finally figured it out), these bottles have been a godsend for my baby. My baby had issues with chugging and gas, and I had a hard time finding bottle nipples slow enough to prevent chugging and getting "waterboarded" with milk. Dr Browns premie nipples are the only ones that helped with this issue. The anti colic system was effective in reducing gas and colic symptoms. The travel caps were helpful when mixing formula on the go, as it prevents spilling. Cons: -It took me longer than it should have to figure out how to prevent the bottles from leaking. The instructions that come with the bottle do not have great information on troubleshooting and the internet wasn't very helpful for the most part. Read below if you want to know how I figured out how to prevent the leakage! -These are a huge pain to clean due to having multiple parts. You need multiple brushes to clean all of the parts thoroughly. At least they can be cleaned in the dishwasher, but for a more thorough clean, I found that hand washing was more effective, because a dishwasher won't clean all of the little holes in the vent system. -Cumbersome to travel with. Using the travel discs was a must for me, as there was a risk of spilling without it. Taking out the disc before the feed is not hard, but can be annoying. -I haven't personally used the 8 oz bottles, but they are very long and definitely wouldn't fit into the insulated pocket of my diaper bag, or any standard diaper bag for that matter. Consider this when you're choosing the size! Now, here is how I figured out how to prevent leaking: -the leaking is caused by the green anti colic vent system. When there there is milk in the bottle and the nipple collar is being screwed on it creates a vacuum that pulls milk into the green tube. This is normal, and some milk in the tube is fine. However, when you have a fuller bottle, more milk enters the green tube and once it gets past the neck into the wider, upper part of the tube, you're almost guaranteed to have leaking because that liquid is likely to get into the vent holes and leak out the sides. Screwing the collar on tightly will not prevent this and may actually make it worse. -the leakage is likely due to volume. I was using the 4 oz bottles and if I had more than 100 ml of milk in the bottle, I was almost guaranteed leaking. If your baby needs more than 100 ml per single feed, you're better off buying the 8 oz bottles. Or try the 5 oz bottles, but I think these bottles are only available in wide nipples. If your baby feeds more than 100 ml but less than 130 ml, this might be a good choice if you don't want to deal with the large 8 oz bottles. -if your baby needs volumes that approach the upper limit of the bottle that you're looking to purchase, you may want to purchase a bigger bottle. This should really help with the leaking. It took a lot of trial and error but I almost never have to deal with leaking now. I hope this review helps you if you're on the fence about buying these bottles!
