The SAWbird + H1 is an internal LNA module designed for 1.42 GHz hydrogen line applications. Very high attenuation centered around 1.42GHz outside of the 65MHz bandpass area, with a minimum of 40dB gain at the targeted frequency. Nominal current consumption is 120mA.

SAWbird + H1 does not have the same 50 ohm reference as SAWbird + H1 Barebones. That's why this module has a low noise index of about 0.8dB for approximately 1.05dB for SAWbird + H1 Barebone.

The SAWbird+ series includes two ultra-low noise LNA sandwiched around a custom designed high-performance SAW filter centered around the intended frequency. Each LNA module has an EMI shield to isolate the LNA from external interference.

Each module has 3 different power options, but always supply only one option. The recommended power input from the SMA output port is 3V to 5V DC. Or if there is no SDR with bias T, you can use the external power option via micro USB port or power input header (female 0.1" header). Recommended external power input is 3.3V-5.5V DC. SAWbird has over-voltage protection circuitry which works with voltage up to 12V DC and will not damage your device but is not recommended for long term use. Please note that there will be no damage caused by overvoltage conditions. It is covered by a standard 1 year warranty.

Please note that depending on SDR, ESD protected diodes may be activated by LNA when power is sourced from external. Of course, you can use LNA with these SDR but if you use the DIY solution to install a DC block between the LNA and SDR, this is as easy as high quality capacitors with low distortion connected in inline with RF passes
