We could throw it clear across the pool or toss it close to each other. We left it in the swim bag all summer and it never got gross or stinky and still looks brand new. A few times it rolled under the fence and we had to employ lifeguard help to retrieve it, and my kids cheered every time we got it back. Eh. It skips somewhat ok but not a lot. Probably need a really good arm and long pool length to reach full skip. We got more use of it as a small ball to toss around with each other. However, it is well constructed.
