TabCat really really works. 10 Stars. Very small, easy to set up, easy to use, very accurate. This is the ultimate cat pager/tracker. No subscription charges-ever. Does not rely on satellites or cell phones or apps. I tested TabCat in an open field with grass more than 1 foot tall. At a distance of 400 feet, the TabCat remote control was near the limit of it's range which is incredible for very low level weak RF signals. Slowly point the TabCat remote control towards the horizon and slowly rotate in a full circle. Follow the strongest signal reading on the bargraph and fastest beeping tones. Very handy. The TabCat remote control correctly showed me which direction to start walking +/-45 degrees from 400 feet away. At 300 feet, the signal was much stronger and more accurate +/-30 degrees. At 200 feet, the signal was about half strength, even more accurate +/-15 degrees. At 100 feet, accuracy improved to better than 10 degrees. The signal strength was very strong and the beeps were getting faster and higher pitched. At 50 feet and closer, TabCat was extremely accurate. All I had to do to use TabCat is walk, point the remote control slowly in several directions, listen and watch for the strongest signal, then move towards the strongest signal. TabCat can pair with up to FOUR separate collar trackers allowing you to find four different pets easily. Some will say that 400 feet is not enough range, however, this is plenty for 12 acres out in the country. It would take me less than 30 minutes to accurate seek and correctly find my four cats. Nevermind the marketing and sales folks which sometimes exaggerate products. (Ever heard of the 600 mile compact indoor "digital" UHF TV antenna? Ha!) For TabCat, 500 feet range would be under non-realistic perfect ideal conditions, not real world conditions. This real world performance is double what I thought was ever possible given the small size and low power constraints. If you need to cover the whole county region, get a GPS cell phone $ubscription plan pet tracker. Otherwise, TabCat does the job perfectly and practically. The batteries are standard batteries that last for several months. Batteries are easy to change out. The instructions say TabCat is water resistant. To be sure, use the included flexible rubber covers to help keep water out of the collar tracker. Be sure to purchase rubber covers for each of your collar trackers. I ordered TabCat with 4 collar trackers and 4 rubber covers. Definitely splash resistant. To fully waterproof the collar tracker be creative and use a very small sealed balloon or tape. The TabCat remote control is slightly larger than a thick credit card and is also splash resistant. A small ziplock bag will make it waterproof. I like the feature where the remote control will turn itself off after inactivity so that it does not run the remote control CR2032 batteries down. This greatly extends battery life. This product is designed to work for many years. I could not ask for a better product than TabCat. 10 Stars.

This product is a game changer! Air tags don't work well up here in the mountains because of the inconsistent cell service, but these are perfect! I did put an air tag on the handset because my son isn't great about putting it away properly, but now we can always find the airtag/handset through the Wifi. I was worried the tags would be too large for my medium sized cats, but they are lightweight and easy for them to carry - mind you, the cats aren't keen on a collar at all, but they have to suck it up for safety. It looks oddly big in the photo, but it really isn't. I got collars with a quick release fastener so I can take them off when I can keep the cats inside and easily put the collars on again when the pretend-predators want to be out. These are city cats moved up to the mountains, so I don't let them have 100% freedom outside, and they're reasonably cautious; but, being cats, they don't necessarily come when you try to call them inside because you have to leave or it's getting dark - sure, they hear me, they just have other priorities. These trackers have found them pretty far from the house and sometimes in unexpected places. The cats have their fun, and I get peace of mind. I had an issue with one of the trackers on arrival, but I contacted the seller, and they helped me right away - minor battery issue, easily resolved. Love that each tracker is connected to a different button on the handset, and you can change the volume on the handset - good point in the instruction booklet that when you're close you can turn the volume off and listen for the sound the tracker makes on the cat. One cat knows when her tracker goes off that I'm looking for her and will meet me part way, but she's very food motivated and knows she'll get treats. The other one - who knows what she's thinking - she makes me work for it (hahaha).

Works super well except with one cat of mine who is transitioning from kitten to cat and beginning to prowl for a female companion. He has shed his collar twice and after the last time he did so, it's gone without a trace. I thought he got eaten by a coyote, but he came back with a new yowling type of meow. Can easily find my other two cats and my opossum when she wears her harness. The remote should be more visible, but nothing a little reflective duct tape can't fix. 9/10 super product. I'd pay more for more range, but I can easily find any of my other cats on the 2 acres I live on just by walking around the property. Takes no time at all to set up and is something I'd recommend to any who want to keep track of their feline friends without an annual fee or relying on someone's iPhone to be nearby. I forgot to unpair one of my tags with the remote from the 2pk I initially bought, is this tag bricked now that I sent back the remote it's paired to?

Pricey, but if you want something that actually works, this is it. All batteries are replaceable in all components, range is superior due to use of RF, and tabs are water resistant. Any smartphone-based tracker is not practical in a rural area, and the range of bluetooth is dismal. Any real GPS-based tracker is going to cost a fortune.

It works just as it was advertised! It came with batteries and was all ready to set up. It works perfectly outside of the USA as I’m using it here in the Philippines! It fits perfectly in my 2 year old cat. It doesn’t look bulky at all.
